New entrant to e-mobility service solutions, Vcharge Asia, has introduced its system of fast-charging infrastructure for electric vehicles (EV) at the International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition & Conference Malaysia (IGEM) 2023.

Hyundai Kona Electric_EV_Charging Port_Battery Indicator“As Malaysia’s sustainability industry continues to flourish and gain momentum, the nation is more receptive towards sustainable transportation solutions. With our newly launched charging infrastructure, we are not just increasing charging speed; we are fundamentally reshaping the entire EV experience. We believe that the future of mobility should be fast, convenient, and sustainable. Together, we are expediting the transition to a cleaner, greener future — one where EVs play a pivotal role in transforming how we move and reducing our environmental footprint,” said Kenny Ronald Ngalin, Founder of Ocean Vantage Holdings.

VCharge Asia_Phihong_EV ChargerVcharge is employing an innovative approach to charging infrastructure. It aims to strategically establish its stations in municipal council-owned parking lots, specifically catering to busy office and commercial hubs, to further increase accessibility for users.

Moreover, the focus for Vcharge is on enhancing the charging speed and efficiency of its targeted 100 EV charging points across Malaysia. Its fastest chargers can reduce the typical 3-hour charging time to about 30 minutes.

Working on the Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP), the Vcharge platform is compatible with over 50 brands of EV charging equipment. Vcharge Asia boasts an extensive portfolio of EV charging equipment from DC charging modules, portable DC chargers, and well-mounted AC chargers, among others. The brand’s bespoke solutions cater to diverse EV requirements, ranging from personal cars to public buses. Its network expansion will include both in-house brand and seamless integration of other charging equipment brands, to offer versatility and accessibility.

Besides the charging infrastructure, Vcharge has also developed a mobile application for a more seamless experience. The app allows for effortless navigation, from locating the nearest charging station to checking for real-time charge point availability to remotely monitoring the charging progress.

“The core of the Vcharge app is to simplify every aspect of EV charging for a user-centric and hassle-free experience. Coupled with our strategic positioning of charging points within city limits to push the EV movement forward, we hope to continue complementing government initiatives to expand coverage along long-distance routes,” added Kenny. Vcharge_App

ACO Tech has integrated Sarawak’s own smart payment solution, Pay & Go, into the ATLAS infotainment system for PROTON vehicles. The Pay & Go function is to enable seamless payment for off-street parking in the state.

ACO Tech is jointly owned by PROTON, Altel, and ECARX, and its ATLAS infotainment head unit (IHU) software is found in its latest models. Meanwhile, Pay & Go’s smart parking solution enables users to make parking payments directly in-car with just a tap on the display. This helps to do away with physical parking tickets or the need to use a mobile phone1. PROTON X70_ATLAS Infotainment_Pay & Go_ACO Tech

This is a first-of-its-kind partnership in Malaysia, formalised through a Product Integration Agreement (PIA) to enhance user convenience and elevate driving experience. The PIA exchange was done at the World Congress on Innovation & Technology 2023 (WCIT 2023) in Kuching, Sarawak (currently happening until 6 October). Exchanging the agreements were ACO Tech Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Li Pu, and Pay & Go Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Eddie Wee. Witnessing this event were the Premier of Sarawak, YAB Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, and the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of PROTON, Mr. Roslan Abdullah.

Through the partnership with ACO Tech, this convenient solution will be integrated into selected PROTON models equipped with Malaysia’s first dedicated automotive operating system, ATLAS OS. Once users have saved their number plate in their Pay & Go account, they can use credits which can be purchased in-app to make payments directly from the ATLAS IHU before approaching the parking exit. QR payment via local payment gateway S Pay Global is also supported. Additionally, upcoming software updates will enable users to pay directly from their ATLAS Pay e-wallet accounts.

This feature is available starting from today (4 October), with the PROTON X70 with ATLAS2 IHU being the first model to receive this innovative integration. Pay & Go will soon be made available in more connected PROTON models, starting with the X-series, via over-the-air (OTA) software updates.

“Central to ACO Tech solutions is our innovation to provide convenience and enhance the overall driving experience for customers. By collaborating with likeminded partners such as Pay & Go who have similar value propositions, we now offer a customer-centric solution for parking via our IHU. The integration of Pay & Go into ATLAS underscores our commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions to our valued customers. We aim to make the driving experience more convenient and enjoyable for motorists and will continue innovating to shape the future of automotive technology.” said ACO Tech Chief Executive Officer Mr. Li Pu. Pay & Go Chief Executive Officer Mr. Eddie Wee commented, “Pay & Go is more than just a Smart Parking Solutions provider. Our value proposition is enabling lifestyle convenience for users. We have plans to roll out more features in the ATLAS system such as eReservation for F&B and Parking Space Reservation, among other things, in the near future.”

Pay & Go services are currently available in 28 locations primarily in Kuching but will be expanded to more areas, especially in the Klang Valley.

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. has revealed its all-electric concept vehicle ahead of the Japan Mobility Show (formerly Tokyo Motor Show) which is happening in late October 2023. The Nissan Hyper Urban concept was digitally revealed earlier at a new design presentation hall in the Nissan Technical Centre in Atsugi, Kanagawa, and is part of a series of all-electric concepts from the brand. Nissan_Hyper Urban_Side

Its series of concepts will be revealed one by one* in digital form, leading up to the show’s press day on 25 October. The concepts feature the word “hyper” to express the heightened excitement they aim to bring. Each concept is represented by a symbolic character and has custom-tailored features that add value to unique lifestyles and diverse aspirations. The concepts are also meant to help customers make a positive impact on the planet without compromising on style or fun.

Nissan’s vision for the Japan Mobility Show will express the brand’s dedication to enriching people’s lives and revolutionising the electric vehicle (EV) landscape with transformative products and technologies.

The Nissan Hyper Urban’s styling complements the sophisticated tastes of its target users, mainly urban- and suburban-based professionals who prioritise environmental sustainability. The vehicle’s design is characterised by a sleek and modern aesthetic to express the users’ discerning taste, making a bold statement while also effectively blending in with their environment. Nissan_Hyper Urban_Rear

Furthermore, the Hyper Urban will be fully interwoven into the EV ecosystem. It will feature a V2H (vehicle-to-home) function enabling it to provide power to the home, resulting in significant energy cost savings and reducing strain on the power grid. Moreover, with its V2G (vehicle-to-grid) capability, owners can even contribute surplus power to the grid to support their local community and earn money in the process. The Intelligent Charging Management System features AI that can autonomously charge vehicles and power buildings, providing efficient management of power.

This concept also applies sustainability to vehicle lifespan, making it ideal for people conscious of the long-term value of everything they own. Hardware updates and regular software updates provide a fresh ownership experience over many years. For example, the interior can be refreshed with a new instrument panel that reflects the latest technologies and trends in graphic user interfaces.

The car also represents future design and technological capabilities of Nissan’s electric offerings. The exterior’s lime yellow body changes chromatic expressions depending on the lighting angle. The front and rear scissor doors provide a sense of openness and character, while the sporty silhouette produces aerodynamic excellence for increased efficiency. Wide tires complete the sporty look, evoking rugged dynamics with urban aesthetics. Nissan_Hyper Urban_Scissor Doors

The interior is designed to blend in with urban living spaces. Inspired by kaleidoscopic triangles, the instrument panel and display can be customised according to the owner’s mood. In addition, the front seats can collapse and fold into the back seats, creating a sofa-like, private relaxing space. When away from the daily grind, the Nissan Hyper Urban can seamlessly integrate relaxation and utility e.g. park it inside a loft apartment or bungalow so that it becomes an interior space to unwind.
