smart #1 BRABUS Unveiled At International Electric Mobility Showcase In KL; Launch Soon

smart Malaysia has officially unveiled the flagship variant of its smart #1 EV, the #1 BRABUS. The car was unveiled at the International Electric Mobility Showcase (IEMS) by YAB Dato’  Sri Haji Fadillah Bin Haji Yusof, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Plantations and Commodities, along with YB Chang Lih Kang, Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation. Also present were YB Tuan Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, Minister of Natural Resources, Environment, and Climate Change, Dr. Li Chunrong, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PROTON, En Roslan Abdullah, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO) of PROTON, and Mr. Zhang Qiang, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pro-Net. smart_#1 BRABUS_International Electric Mobility Showcase

BRABUS is known for making enhancements to Mercedes-Benz vehicles, and this collaboration with smart is an extension of it. smart Automobiles is a joint venture between Geely and Mercedes-Benz. The smart #1 BRABUS is designed for fans of high-performance motoring. The dual motor set-up provides 315 kW (422 hp) and 543 Nm to the all-wheel-drive system, allowing the car to accelerate from 0 – 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. smart #1 BRABUS_Front Seats

IEMS is part of the International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition & Conference Malaysia (IGEM) organised by the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change and co-organised by Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC).

smart wants the #1 to play a major role in efforts by car owners to make a substantial reduction in their carbon footprint through the use of a zero emission vehicle that can be further boosted by the use of renewable energy sources such as solar to fuel its batteries. smart #1 BRABUS_Boot Space

Hello smart_App_Charging Mapsmart Malaysia is also actively working to seamlessly integrate the smart #1 into the digital lifestyle of its owners. One example is the development of the Hello smart App which introduces a range of features including vehicle booking and product information, as well as real-time charging point information. smart has already integrated about 70% of available public charging points into the app thus far. It has also invested more than RM3 million in the localisation of the all-in-one digital application that prioritises convenience.

There is no confirmed pricing for the smart #1 just yet but the 3 variants set to be introduced at the official launch soon i.e. Pro, Premium and BRABUS are expected to fall within the RM200,000 – RM250,000 range.

Those who are interested to touch and feel the #1 can visit IEMS at the KL Convention Centre (Hall 5) today (5 October) and tomorrow (6 October). Alternatively, you can go straight to booking the car via the Hello smart App and take advantage of smart #1 Early Bird Perks, which comprise RM1,001 in charging credits.
