Ranger continues to drive Ford sales in Malaysia
Ford today announced July retail sales of 975 units in Malaysia, driven by continued strong demand for the Ranger, Fiesta and EcoSport nameplates.
The versatile Ranger pickup – Ford’s best-selling nameplate in Malaysia – continued to enjoy strong demand in July, with retail sales of 699 units, marking three consecutive months of sales gains. Year-to-date sales of the Ranger have jumped 22 percent to 5,520 units.
“As we see momentum return to the industry, we’re pleased that more and more Malaysians are being attracted by our class-leading Ranger, which continues to significantly outpace the performance of the pick-up segment,” said David Westerman, managing director, Malaysia and Asia Pacific Emerging Markets, Ford Motor Company.
To meet the seemingly unceasing rising demand, Ford has increased dealer stock nationwide across the entire Ranger line-up.
Among other models, sales of the Fiesta rose 12 percent over the previous month to 119 units, whilst the EcoSport compact urban SUV also delivered sales of 101 units.
Ford plans to continue strengthing the appeal of its Malaysia showroom, as the company refreshes its current lineup with the new Ranger facelift, all-new Everest, and the iconic Mustang to its growing range of cars, trucks, and SUV.
