Official price announced for 2013 Ford Fiesta 1.5
The new 2013 Ford Fiesta 1.5 Ti-VCT is now available for viewing at all Ford showrooms nationwide with an official introductory price announced in a statement issued today. Inclusive of insurance, both the five-door Sport and four-door Titanium variants of the new facelifted Fiesta are priced on par at RM86,988 for individual private registration in Peninsula Malaysia.
Besides Ford showrooms, Malaysians will also get to check out the new Fiesta up close at the vehicle’s debut roadshow at Mid Valley Megamall running from 26 to 30 September 2013. Further road shows are scheduled at Queensbay Mall, Penang (2-6 Oct); Sutera Mall, Skudai (16-20 Oct); Suria Mall, KK (30 Oct – 3 Nov); and Sunway Pyramid, Petaling Jaya (30 Oct – 3 Nov).
A massive launch party is being planned at the Taylors Lakeside University Campus on 28 September to coincide with the hitz.fm Birthday Invasion Live Concert. Admission is free and open to all members of the public.
As highlighted in earlier reports, the new Fiesta will launch with a new 1.5-litre Ti-VCT engine delivering outputs of 110hp and 140Nm. Paired with the Ford-Getrag six-speed Powershift dual clutch transmission, the engine sips fuel at a claimed rate of 5.8 l/100km and emits 137 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometre traveled.
Besides a comprehensively revised fascia which carries Ford’s new signature grille and laser-cut headlamps, the new Fiesta also boasts upgraded equipment over its predecessor, featuring Ford SYNC with Voice Command, keyless entry, push-button start, rain-sensing wipers, Electronic Automatic Temperature Control (EATC) air-conditioning, power wing mirrors with auto-fold and other items as standard.
Ford is now offering a five-year warranty or a 200,000 km bumper-to-bumper new vehicle warranty for the new Fiesta. As with all Ford passenger vehicles available in Malaysia, the new Fiesta also comes with Ford’s Extended Service Plan (ESP) to provide added peace of mind to customers at no extra cost. Ford ESP is a free three-year or 60,000km maintenance programme that covers parts and labour free of charge. In addition to routine inspection and maintenance services, Ford’s ESP covers free replacements for selected wear-and-tear items, including spark plugs, shock absorbers, engine belts, brake pads and wiper blades.
