2024 GAC GS3 Emzoom Launched In Malaysia With Special Launch Package For Early Birds

WTC Automotif (M) Sdn Bhd (WTCA), a subsidiary of Warisan TC Holdings Bhd, has launched the 2024 GAC GS3 Emzoom in Malaysia. This compact SUV is available in CBU (completely built-up) form in 2 variants i.e. the GS3 Emzoom Exclusive and GS3 EMZOOM Premium R priced at RM118,900 and RM128,900 respectively.

For the first 2,000 buyers of the GAC GS3 EMZOOM, WTCA is offering a Special Launch Package which consists of:

• 3x complimentary scheduled service maintenance including labour, parts and lubricants.
• 7-Year or 180,000 km Engine & Powertrain Warranty,  in addition to the standard 5 years / 150,000 km warranty.
• Complimentary GAC Smart Watch Key (worth RM1,388) with integrated car key functions.

“We previewed the GAC GS3 Emzoom for the first time in Malaysia back in January. Since then, we have received strong and positive reviews, which essentially validates the appeal and competitiveness of the package we are able to offer to local consumers with this model,” said Tan Keng Meng, CEO of Warisan TC Holdings Bhd. The GAC GS3 Emzoom is the result of the collaboration between WTCA and GAC Motor International Co., Ltd. to build up the brand presence of GAC in Malaysia. Both parties had recently marked the Start of Production (SOP) for the completely knocked-down (CKD) GAC GS3 Emzoom in WTCA’s Segambut plant a mere 13 months after the local assembly project was first announced in 2023.

“The compact SUV segment is probably one of the most competitive areas in the automotive market today. However, the 2024 GAC GS3 EMZOOM ticks plenty of right boxes in terms of design, performance, practicality and technology and we are confident in its overall ability to put up a strong challenge here as a CBU model, ahead of the arrival of the locally-assembled vehicle plus other exciting new models on the horizon,” added Tan.

The GAC GS3 Emzoom features a bold chiseled exterior design characterized by the Mecha Wing Grille, Laser Eye Split LED headlights, electric hidden door handles, Light Dart tail lights, a rear roof spoiler and 18″ wheels.

Built on a 2,650 mm wheelbase, which is the longest in the compact SUV segment, the physical dimensions of the GS3 Emzoom measure 4,410 mm in length (4,446 mm for Premium R), 1,850 mm in width and 1,600 mm in height, to offer one of the most spacious and comfortable cabins in its class. The rear cargo carrying capacity is 341 litres that is expandable to 1,271 litres with the seats folded down. Furthermore, the boot floor has 2 levels of height adjustment.

The GAC GS3 Emzoom is powered by a 1.5L 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine which produces 177 PS (175 hp) @ 5,500rpm and 270 Nm @ 1,400 – 4,500 rpm. The engine is paired with a 7-speed wet dual clutch transmission (7WDCT), enabling a 0 – 100 km/h acceleration time of 8 seconds while also offering a fuel efficiency rating 5.9L/100km (NEDC cycle). The GS3 Emzoom comes with MacPherson Struts in front and a torsion beam in the rear. Stopping the vehicle are a set of ventilated disc brakes in front and solid disc brakes in the rear.

In the cabin, the GS3 Emzoom is fitted with:

Additionally, the Premium R variant also wears a slightly different exterior with the R-Style Sport Package and R-Style Sport Exhaust. The available exterior colours for both variants are: Salt Lake Blue, Ivory White, Graphene Grey, and Super Star Silver.

Furthermore, the GS3 Emzoom is equipped with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) which includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, front collision warning, traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning, and intelligent speed limit control. These are in addition to the dual front and side airbags (the Premium R also includes side curtain airbags), hill hold control, electronic stability programme, and blind spot monitor.

WTCA is growing the GAC network in Malaysia, with a total of 15 official dealers appointed to-date. In combination with its own branches, WTCA expects to have over 20 showrooms and service centres operating in the main cities of Peninsula Malaysia by Q3 2024. Plans to expand to East Malaysia are also in the works. All service centres are fully-equipped to support GAC customers in Malaysia, with sufficient spare parts already in stock to fulfil the maintenance requirements of the first batch of GAC GS3 Emzoom vehicles.
