There is only 1 ultimate SWB 4wd stock standard and it is not a Defender
90 or a Jeep Wrangler or a Suzuki or a Lada Niva or a Vitara or a Feroza.
Its a Merc G Wagen built by Steyr and Puch. Comes standard with 3 diff
locks. Do u see that in other cars as standard? Hehe.

Jeeps.....
Well though it's a Jeep thing but i really wouldnt bother to understand
them. Coz they are just as idiosyncratic as Land Rovers. But the thing is
why i wouldnt really bother with Jeeps is that there are so few ppl that
specialise in them other than Danny Kow of JPS workshop.
Plus i find they can be quite fragile at times.
But in terms of offroading i dont really fancy them is other than costs.
I notice that they only offer in 2.5 or 4.0 petrol in the Cherokee and
2.5 litre for the Wrangler only(officialy brough it my MBF). Well they
are a tad lethargic for the 2.5 litre but if possible i rather have a
diesel plant for off roading plus the furgal benefits.
But through my obversavation if find that the Cherokee is slightly flawed
in design for hard core off roading is that it runs on a monocoque
chassis. Beats my why they did it that way. Also it runs an odd
suspension setup of coils up front and leafs at the rear.
Oh well just my 2 cents. Do take them lightly.

hey when is the LROM thingy? Is it this week?

Sigh i want a 4.8 final drive and a V8.......
Anyone knows of a Daihatsu F10 or F20? Grand Daddy of the Daihatu Rocky.
Looking for one in any condition.

Oh yeah i suggest why dont we start an email list.
Then when there genuine commitment, just send a group email about the
finer and nitty gritty details.

Hey BabyGod,

No one would dispute the G-Wagon from Mercedes. It has been 25 years they
build the car, now even with AMG modifications!! On-road, off-road whatever
road, this baby is omni-present!!!

However, I don't think many can be seen in Malaysia?? Perhaps I am the
katak bawah tempurung. But this new Mercedes G is much more expensive than
the Mercedes ML series. It's only rich man's toys.

I am, on the other hand, looking at those 4-wheelers that an average ppl
like me can get. Feroza is one. Care to tell me more about your Rocky??
Well, can't wait to see it for sure...... Shock

topan,

Oh. The car survey website. Have been there. There's even one Terios in
Portugal I think. Yeah, Feroza is what attracts me the most. And the roof
and the back portion can be removed lar. That makes it an open air
offroader!! My saliva also dropping already.... he he he

jsammy,

Cool lar!! You even have a 4x4 advisor!! Will he follow you on this trip??
And can understand, if you are mostly on highway, then H/T is suitable.
Talking about it, my Yokohama Geolandar A/T on my Kembara wears out preety
fast oh!!! But sad lar, newly fitted last November, until now tak de chance
nak masuk hutan!!!!

WARN winch.... I think gigolox and volvoc304 sure have lar... maybe
babygod's rocky also got... but then I think every car should have at least
the basic recovery kit. As harrogate puts it, safety is foremost.
