RM 350 for front and back. all in!

Whether it will scratch ur tyre or not? um.. i din pay much attention to
that; but i guess if u specifically ask the shop to be careful, i think it
shud be fine. I got the tyre from lai thye klang, this shop will save you
around rm20 compare to another one in glenmarie.. will try to look for the
phone no. for u later.

Who care abt what other think.. they wont realized the fun and freedom of
Bike... I decided to buy a bike after laying off biking for >20+ years,
and i regret i didnt do it earlier!!

Being a car driver, i would never make any plan to go anywhere (unless i
really have to)during peak hour, in this case, peak hour to me is 7am -
10am, and 4pm - 7pm. because of that i really feel restricted by this
city.

But now, i can go anywhere anytime and need not worried about jam, finding
carpark, wasting petrol money cos of jam or toll.

Now i started to like KL!! can u believe it?? Just a few days ago i was
beronda ronda and passed by sungai wang, i was thinking to myself: "hey
why dont i just stop by and check out the action?" And right there and
then i just stopped my bike, found a place to park (by the road side, off
cos) walked right in.. that very moment i suddenly realized this is
something i would never do if i am driving!! Now a day i wud purposely
ride down to KL for supper; one thing i never do when i drove a car.
Nowady i only drive when i am out with my family, or when it rain heavily.

So my friend... u have make an excellent decision to be a biker again!!

ye know..I almost bought this scoot earlier this month, but did some
homework and found out that the company at Sg buloh who brought in this
scooter is more or less the same one who brought in JRD/comel..tha is why I
decided to hold on first..Will monitor first and maybe by early next year
will decide to purchase another maxi scooter for weekend bike

3drgetz,

Your concern on the quality is acceptable in order not to get a problem
bike. But again, If you homework done by comparing SYM with JRD/comel
then this is a way out of rationalization but no harm comparing.

If this GTS come with “NIMOTA GTS 200” instead of “SYM GTS” then the
background of the suppliers need scrutinize in detail. As we are aware,
if they put “NIMOTA/or MONDENAS/or JRD/or COMEL GTS “ then a lot of parts
will be localized to maximize the profit and the SYM will not responsible
in the event any inferior parts being used to the GTS. Meaning that they
only guarantee on the supply of the engine and not on the manufacturer
assemble. In short, they guarantee on parts that they supplied to madenas
but no the workmanship.

This scenario can be seen from the Elegan quality especially on the
plastic quality and workmanship used by the Elegan and SYM GTS. I presume
a lot of localized supplier involves to give a cheaper elegan bike for
the public due to market demand at this pricing. This can be observed
when you compare in detail if you own the GTS.

International company like SYM Taiwan will not take the risk to give u a
bad quality bike to spoil their company reputation which they have built
for few decades and put their SYM emboss logo everywhere at this GTS
bike:

The following emboss logo which I observed from the GTS but not all:

(i) Front covering
(ii) Meter panel.
(iii) Steering
(iv) Back light.
(v) Back Handle.
(vi) Exhaust holder
(vii) Fuel cap
(viii) SYM Website at meter panel.

When you talk about homework being done. I think I am more “KiASU” then
you because I need to be convinced myself on the engine performance after
testing the bike for few days before decide.

Just an opinion.

Cheers.SmileSmile

Bro dh955,

Changing the tyres would probably be the first thing i do. But the Maxxis
tyres will they be considered as trade-ins? if so what value. It would be
good if u can give me the shop's no. This is exactly what i need from being
a part of a forum...easy work no need to fumble your way thru things the
hard way. Thanks!

Thanks for the moral support, i though i was a late comeback to biking but
your 20yrs comeback has given a lot of assurance!ThumbUp

I'm rubbing my hands in glee thinking about the convenience of biking
again. Now i can go down to BB for my favourite Famous Beef Noodles anytime
i feel like it. Hehe! Was supposed to collect bike today but was at a
developer's launch earlier so it has 2b tomorrow. Til then..Cheers!

Which shops in KL sell this scooter? Please email me.

Im thinking of getting one. I've been thinking of buying Elegan until I
stumbled upon the pix.

Bro KLscoot, not sure if they accept ur secondhand Maxxis as trade in.
U can try ur luck.

The owner TEL: 016 278 9699, just said u got to know him thru a guy in
internet.

Actually i just change my rear tyre 2 days ago, also Michelin. I change
both front and back 8,000km ago, now my front one still look brand new but
the rear one really Botak!! Since i really satisfied with its performance,
decided to stick to it even tho it is pricy.
