And your GTS AP is stated as Mofaz RS 200 - 198cc...huh?........3drgetz

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bro 3drgetz,

Yes it does say that on my JPJ Registration Card. Curioser & curioser?

It says:
Nama model : Ritz RS 200
Keupayaan Enjin: 198 S.P.

Anyone knows anything we don't?
Will definitely check with KF about this.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Because N*m*t* doesn't have AP allocations to bring in those GTS's and they
make use of others like Mo*az to bring in the scooters. That's really my
main decision why I did not want to commit purchasing GTS yet.. till I can
be assured that they really can provide REAL backup aftersales service and
parts and no untowards effect due to the "paste" AP's.

There are AP's stated as

Nama Model: CPI
Keupayaan enjin : 198cc

and

as mentioned above Mofaz RS 200

The thermo went up to 2 bars after an hour of peak hour
riding in town. Is this normal.
=====================================
Bro KLScoot,
This is very normal.

Encountered 2 problems while riding today:
1). Engine died while I slowed down. The engine just stopped. Started the
bike and rode on another 100 or so meters the engine died again.

2). The rev meter on inserting key failed sweep the dial completely on few
occasions. It just gave a twitch & did not do the full sweep diagnostic.

============================================

Engine just stopped??!! Please keep me update, i really keen to get one,
but must make sure evthing is alright with this "new" playerin town.

Hello Fellas,

Its my 5th day owning the GTS now. As in my earlier comments, the issues
i've raised about:

1). Engine stalled on decelerating.
Took it back to KF, the mechanic said it was due to the low idle speed at
1200 rpm...should have been between 1500 - 1800 rpm for the ideal idle
speed. After adjustment bike seems more responsive on accelerating & no
further recurrence of stalling.

2). RPM meter did not do a full sweep diagnostic on ignition.
Mechanic at KF said that it runs on sensors that to allow 2-3 seconds
before startup engine.
Not convinced as yesterday again it gave a twitch & not a full a sweep of
the dial on ignition even when allowed the few seconds wait. Will
definitely raise matter with KF on 500km service.

3). On the card registration of capacity as 198cc & model Ritz 200.
Asked proprietor of shop, he mentioned something about initially when the
bike was applied for approval, approval was given as such & that in JPJ's
system it was described as such. Shop gave assurance that bike, engine &
parts are totally SYM & i've no reason to doubt its credulity as i see SYM
emboss everywhere even on the engine metal cover.

I wasnt able to go to the kedai last weekend, occupied with other things.

But, KLScoot, please update us on your biking experience with this GTS.
Honestly, I have become wary of this bike after your recent FR about the
bike. The RTD registration card mismatching the actual bike is not to be
taken lightly. One may have problem selling the bike in the future, unless
one sells it back to the original seller.

Have clocked about 686km to date. Have been quite satisfied its
performance. It is stable at speeds maybe b'cos of its weight, feels very
planted (even there're strong cross winds)on the road, not wobbly like how
u would feel on smaller bikes. So far no issue of overheating, efficient
radiator does a great job of cooling, at most went up to 2 bars during peak
hour jam urban cycle (Bukit Bintang!). The day b4 poured rm 10, rode for
135 km/h that's about 0.074 sen per km but don't think bike has teached its
optimum mileage as its still wearing in.

Bike displays strong acceleration, i'm sure after pantang period, i'll have
lots of fun racing at the lights! So far at 3/4 throttle going the uphill
stretch along Bukit Jalil & Puchong Highway the bike was quite willing to
speed up to about 90km/h - 100km/h @ rpm 7500 -8000. Dare not go full as
bike is still new. To keep up with traffic most times bike is ridden at
about 80km/h or so at about 7200rpm. Hope i'm trashing the bike. Bike
generally is a lot smoother now & not much vibration as i think engine is
wearing in.

Been getting a lot of envious stares at the lights & had ppl coming up to
ask about bike when i park. Most think its more than 200cc on its size
alone & most asked if more than 10k. When told the price they look at me in
disbelief. Haha!

As for registration card i don't think there's gonna be a problem selling
it as the chassis & engine no. is clearly displayed clearly. I think the
situation is the same with Wald that brings in certain Toyota alternatives.
However will check with shop proprietor when i send it for servicing tomorrow.

B4 getting the GTS 200, i've also considered the GTR 150 but decided
against as i was given to understand the bike does not come with original
engine as in overseas market that employs NASA tech. Decided for GTS 200
bcos of its international strong branding & reputation and original parts.
So far have been satisfied with GTS except for a few teething problems.

Spoken to Mr. Leong the Technician for NIMOTA, said no problems with
registration as the bore for the bike is actually that of 200cc (so future
Plug & Play DIY enthusiasts might find this handy), and as engine is
imported whole, the model's namesake was badged locally like what proton
did with mitsubishi engines. He said that all approval by JPJ is above
board & i shouldn't have problems selling the bike. Anyone with further
input or knowledge pls give comments. Always good to know & not get caught
with your pants down! Thanks.

Do u know anything about the Registration Card details issue. Pls give
your comment about it in the GTS Experience thread. Thanks

Friend,

Please don’t listen to those people that worry about the AP model : Rizt
200/nimota 200/modenas 200/sym 200/ or any term…. Of 200.

In Bolehland, we are all screwed up by the so called NEP that provide the
AP holders and pay 10% extra for borrowing/buying the AP and masuk their
pocket at the expense of the poor rakyat. Is a norm right?

So what to worry if you are having the legally recorded document as
Registration card. Who dare to say this is illegal Reg card and ask
yourself does it make any different with Model : Rizt 200/or nimota
200/or modenas 200/ or KLscoot 200? AP only mah.

I’m more concern if the AP holder increase their profit margin and makes
the GTS beyond our reach if anything happen between the 2 parties.

Please check any leaking from the engine oil due to fail gasket during
your service. I have seen one so far and dismantle the whole engine block.
