coz GTS using 13 inch for front tyre and 12 inch for the rear tyre. so
hope can let klscoot know earlier before he went to klang to replace his
tyre.

both front and back 8,000km ago, now my front one still look brand new but
the rear one really Botak!! Since i really satisfied with its performance,
decided to stick to it even tho it is pricy.............dh955
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Bro dh955,
Just took my bike from the shop, asked if they have Michelin, the
distributor K.F. said they'll be bringing in some later & said to use orig
the Maxxis for now. I told him what the others said about Maxxis not being
grippy on wets, he said Maxxis is quite ok. Certainly hope so, further
comments? Even my wife insisted that i change reading what the forumers
said about Maxxis! Hehe!
Just to clarify your above comment about your rear tyre being botak. So
soon? Just after changing it 2 days? That's quick.
Yesterday alone i clocked 146km!! Hehe! Went down Bangsar for a roti canai.
Really felt like the good old days when i was in college. Didn't ride too
hard as bike is new, want to allow engine to wear in properly. Noticed the
rev goes up to 7000 to 7500 rpm quite willingly on normal acceleration. Is
it normal for a bike to rev so high? Felt some vibration from the bike
throughout, maybe it's the characteristic of a bike, since i've laid off
biking so long. Back was a little strained from riding (been pampered too
long sitting in a car)!! The few times when i had to accelerate out of
harm's way along the LDP the bike displayed strong & responsive acceleration.
Think the GTS handles corners quite well but didn't tip too low as i'm
still a little wobbly on bikes. The brakes take quite well, getting
accustomed to the linked brakes on the left lever. Lights are bright the
front lights up really well at night, throws out an intense bright light
over a wide area 10ft ahead, outshines most cars. Only complaint is that
going over uneven or painted roads (yellow grid lines) the shocks are felt
quite prominently. Rear LEDs really prominent at night. Overall i'm quite
satisfied with the bike from this first ride so it's a

that rear tyre is smaller than front for GTS??
Bro KLscoot, No lah.. is impossible that a tyre become botak in 2 days
lah!! u think this is F1 meh?? hehehe.what i am saying was; i've just
change my tyre 2 days ago after using the old one for abt 8,000km.
And of cos the GTS seller will tell u maxxis is ok.. but u better listen
to real user instead of seller, Maxxis is bad for cornering and wet
condition. But since u r now under running-in period, and i do believe
that scooter riders are in general more careful bunch, i guess it is quite
ok to use maxxis.. no need to waste money mah. As long as u dont ride fast
in wet condition and dont try to bend like capirossi, Maxxis sud be fine.
By the way, i covered ~400++km in the first 2 days when i received my
scoot. So ur 176km coverage need some catching up!! ho ho!
Do tell us more abt ur riding experience.

Hehe glad to know your tyre not botak within 2 days of riding...thought
must be some super F1 compound. Haha! U're right i might keep the Maxxis
tyres until i get familiar with the bike & demand more performance like
knee drops from it. Thank for the contact will keep it in mond when i make
my way up Klang.
Today i clocked another 100km easy on my bike. Hope i'm not pushing it too
hard too soon. The thermo went up to 2 bars after an hour of peak hour
riding in town. Is this normal.
Encountered 2 problems while riding today:
1). Engine died while I slowed down to negotiate a turn. The engine just
stopped & the bike rolled on its forward momentum. Luckily no oncoming cars.
Started the bike again with one try and rode on another 100 or so meters
whereupon i decelerated & release throttle & as bike was moving on its
forward momentum the engine died again.
Started bike's ignition again & bike operated normally. Problem did not
recur again for rest of the day.
Hoping its not engine seizure causing the failure. Haven't had the chance
to check with KF. Does anyone have any idea what failure could have been
due to? Pls comment.
2). The rev meter on inserting key failed sweep the dial completely on few
occasions. It just gave a twitch & did not do the full sweep diagnostic.
Don't know if its a problem of faulty electricals.
Will make it a point to go to KF for explanations tomorrow.

Bro 3drgetz,
Yes it does say that on my JPJ Registration Card. Curioser & curioser?
It says:
Nama model : Ritz RS 200
Keupayaan Enjin: 198 S.P.
Anyone knows anything we don't?
Will definitely check with KF about this.
