I expect a lot of Eleganer will up grade their bike after 3 months from
now and you will anticipate the 2nd hand value of Elegan will drop
further and the GTS price will go up. This will make the trade off more
difficult.
Just my view.

great comfort owning the bike. Hehe as i beli on a hunch based solely on
SYM`s reputation only. Getting my bike tomorrow have spoken to Liew of KF
Motor.
`.......As on the reliability, I hv a high regard on the SYM product due to
my perception on the original roller and modenas roller that I experienced
before and the GTS bike come with the SYM badge sticker everywhere.
(front, Back and their web site on the meter panel)
As on the localized sale service, what is the big issue to take note
beside roller and belt? Don’t you see the GTS engine is quite similar to
the Elegan? And the GTS is easier to dismantle the air fitter and CVT
casing without removing the external side casing like our elegan. As on
the service carburetor, you don’t need to remove the under seat storage
and the GTS come with the operable door panel to remove the carburetor.
As on the function at original stock without modification, Are you sure
that the new Elegan can provide the following:
(i) Bright rear led light (16 bits of led light),
(ii) Front light that can see the pothole,
(iii) Better handling to absorb the uneven road,
(iv) Better disk brake system for rear and front,
(v) Emergency light that flush all the signal during raining and VIP
convoy,
(vi) Comfort seat for pillion rider,
(vii) Better pick up and maxi scooter design.
(viii) 12V plug point for electric air compressor pump (RM 12 beli from
Carefour lah…Hehe) during tyre puncture. (no need to use the foot pump)
(ix) Big radiator
(x) double caliper piston brake at the back
(xi) Bigger exhaust system
(xii) Bigger front tyre for better handling.`

This is a review done by our Filipino counterparts comparing SYM Joyride
180 & GTS 200:-
FUEL CONSUMPTION
My recorded fuel consumption was 24.3 kilometers per liter. Compared to
Honda Porza 24.8 kilometers per liter, Joyride 22 kilometers per liter,
Majesty 23 kilometers per liter.
HANDLING
I feel like GTS has more hieght and I am not so comfortable making banking
on sharp curves maybe Im more practice. compared to my joyride I could
handle a 50 or 45 degree banking.
SUSPENSION is good. I notice that the front tire demands less pressure
around 22 or 25 psi, more than this front suspension is not that smooth on
ragged roads.
POWER - Great acceleration. Much much grater than Joyride. At 50 kmph you
could easily go 80 90kmph in 4 seconds. I really love this part.
AFTER 356 kilometers run - So far I dont have any problems on my system.
Engine is now smooter and NO oil or Water leaks detected, Suspension is
still the same.
PHYSICAL - GTS is not easy for me to clean. So many corners and area would
dirt could accumulate. It would took and hour to clean up.
The Black part materials is not so good for me since it is not that smooth
surface. I have to apply Armor All to make it look clean.
The Muffler Guard is very disgusting. I really dont like the look.
Tire Size is OK. I mean its just proportional to the overall look of the bike.
The Headlights is good for me, no need for HID i think. I notice that when
u turn all lights ON the battery charging could sustain the overall
cinsumption. My battery warning like would signal after around 30 minutes.
Perhaps because battery is not fully charge. The TAIL is really good, I
really like it 16 pieces LED which is so bright. SIGNAL LIGHT is also very
visible even at daylight.

This is a review done by our Filipino counterparts comparing SYM Joyride
180 & GTS 200:-
--------------------------
Are they using the joyride 172cc or 150cc. Taiwan and Hong Kong using
172cc.

FUEL CONSUMPTION
My recorded fuel consumption was 24.3 kilometers per liter. Compared to
Honda Porza 24.8 kilometers per liter, Joyride 22 kilometers per liter,
Majesty 23 kilometers per liter.
---------------------------------
I think he is still in the break in period. I am getting 27km/liter for
GTS with 3000km mileage at average speed of 110km .
________________________________________________________
HANDLING
I feel like GTS has more hieght and I am not so comfortable making
banking on sharp curves maybe Im more practice. compared to my joyride I
could handle a 50 or 45 degree banking.
---------------------------------------
Are they using the same tyre for comparison?

SUSPENSION is good. I notice that the front tire demands less pressure

Agreed.

Agreed.

-------------------------------
I hv done on the test bike for 500km, So far no issue.

PHYSICAL - GTS is not easy for me to clean. So many corners and area

--------------------------------
Hv not try yet. Not my bike Hehehe…..

The Black part materials is not so good for me since it is not that smooth

---------------------------
What to do. More black plastic at the meter area mah. Using Amour polish.
Good and proven for UV protection.
_____________________________________________________
The Muffler Guard is very disgusting. I really dont like the look.
-----------------------------
No comment on look.
______________________________________________________
Tire Size is OK. I mean its just proportional to the overall look of the
bike.
-----------------------------
I prefer 14” for front and back like piaggio X9. Better control and top
speed higher and easier to get from the market.

Agreed with the bright light for safety.

spotted this issue in Filipino thread....hopefully its not a problem found
in our msian bikes, have u experienced or heard of such problems. I think
it's always a good thing to pre-empt situations b4 they happen then at
least we won't be caught unawares.
Quoted per se from Phil forum:
1) Dragging was one of the complain from Bataan buyer which was resolve by
changing the Cluctch Lining (Rebonding) but it has still slight dragging. I
am not experiencing this problem at this stage. My other body has
experience overheting - after a series of compalin they found out that it
was a faulty radiator. When repalce the unit is now OK. So far I have a
good colling system after alost a week of running everyday.
2)Good thing they replaced the front brake caliper I had a problem with
that before , my front brake locked almost dropped the bike. I think it was
a rubber thing in the caliper shibby fixed it :) My engine bolt dropped
before so make sure to double check, everything tighten all ur nuts and
bolts just to make sure . I experience engine dragging and vibration at low
speeds during traffic, 20kph below.
3)I Notice an untoward TIK Sound whenever I accelerate heavy. I wonder what
it is? Strong TIK Sound about 3 times TIK TIK TIK when i make a rapid
acceleration.
http://motorcyclephi...hp?t-39257.html
Hopefully all this problems are isolated cases within the Phil context.
Hopefully the Msian distributor have this sorted out b4 they put the bikes
out in the market. Will definitely be looking for these issues when i get
my bike.

The stock tyre for ur scoot is Maxxis?? wow.. like that u better change..
One tyre i used before.. and even now, is michelin booper, make of soft
compound.. It actually "Bite" the road like the pit bull!! Very good for
cornering, u can actually feel that the tyre is stick to the road.. cost
more than a car tyre tho. RM 180 (rear) and rm170 front. If u like to
play "pick-up" and go on top speed when ever u can, the rear tyre would
probably last for 8,000 km. The front can easily last u up to 15,000 km.
Sometime "thing" might just happen like when u corner and suddenly the
surface is wet in the middle of the corner, with a lousy tyre like maxxis,
your chances of visiting the hospital is very high!! So even if it cost me
slightly more, i still feel that the money is well spend.
So while u are all excited abt ur new "lover", make sure u take care of ur
self ,too.
CHEER!!
Afterall there are only 2 tyres that has contact with the road. beside i
am no longer a young kid where my wound will heal in 3days.

Yes that true isn't it we are not as young as we'd like to think. Hehe! My
Mom looked at me in disbelief when i told her i bought a bike. My wife
thinks i'm trying to recapture lost youth! Btw the tyres 'michelin bopper'
that u spoke about, where can i get them bro. is it inclusive of labour for
installation? Msian or Thai? And can they do a proper rim job without
scratching or denting the rims. I'm also quite worried about skidding on
wet roads, bones & flesh don't heal as quickly as they do when younger.
