This is to kick off the SYM GTS 200 Experience thread. So all GTS 200
riders & oso all the Sifus, Gurus, Mahagurus & Otais of Elegan pls
contribute your two sen worth here as we can all benefit from your years of
hard riding, belt wearing & pulley breaking experience!! Haha! No seriously
it will be a tremendous help to us as GTS 200 is relatively new in our
market & we'll need any advice we can get & not run around like chickens
without heads!
Pls keep the discussion on this thread tight & not stray off course, as we
are mean battle hardened pot bellied bikers!! Haha!

This bike certainly has good value proposition given the price, size,
quality & comfort it offers. Don't think any other bike goes for as little,
the only question that remains to be answered is the durability,
performance & parts & service issues. So far the shop has attended to my
complaints earlier expeditiously, shows that they're serious about doing
biz. See that u've decided to put your trusty steed out to pastures! Haha!
Good for u.

The bike price is rm 8,250 but OTR with 1st party insurance should be
between 85++ to 89++ depending on sgl or all rider cover. Also your pasar
malam haggling skills comes in handy to bargain down handling charges etc.
Hehe!
Totti test rode the bike yesterday at KF Motor, Jln Ipoh he claimed the top
speed should be approx 130km/h depending upwind or downwind. Said that
pickup 10% better than Elegan. FC dunno yet right now. But body stiffer
translate into better handling.

I'm glad u think it's a good buy, i was afraid i bought salah as i've been
out of touch with biking for a long time. Tomorrow go JPJ register should
be able to lay my hands on bike by Wed!! Haha! Can't wait. Bike is actually
172cc but badges as GTS 200, marketing reasons i think. In some market
overseas they call it Joymax 180.
is 500cc nexus from Gilera stable? Have u ridden it? Pls tell as next up
bike will be 500cc if budget allows

Would it be advisable for me to change the engine oil & coolant when i take
delivery of the new bike. And if so, what brand, SAE requirements or type
full syn/ semi synt and what's a good coolant to use.
Any sifu out there with expert opinion pls advise as i'm getting my new
baby early next week. :)

bridgestone,Michelin) and replace it. The original Maxxis tyre(worst than
my continental tyre)come with GTS is very bad for wet road. Other than
that, just use 10W-30 engine oil and replace at 3,000km interval as per
the manual book.
As on the fuel capacity, this bike come with 12 litre tank which mean
that can travel up to 310km with full tank. I got the mileage of 1 liter
= 27km which mean that 1km ~ 7 cents of petrol for average traveling at
110km at the highway. I presume that the mileage will be better if u
travel at 90-100km. My Elegan is getting 5.5 cents per KM.
A big scooter come with good handling and good brake system will be
useless if u do not have a good set of tyre. (safety fist)
