KLScoot,
better use the availabe engine oil and coolant, let it run till 1st
service then change. I`d advice you to buy the best engine oil available
in the market, not to pour Rm13/bottle engine oil you buy from any Ah Beng
motor shop. Oh ya, buy from gas station is better from any motorshop coz
there are cases where fake engine oils are sold there but if from gas
station, your oil is guaranteed genuine one.

The GTS 200 is one good looking bike. Though if you see it from the front
it kinda look like 'Plankton' from Spongebob Squareparts. The first thing
I'd like to do is to change the side mirrors.

Anyway, I'm interested in getting one. Before that, I've a few questions:

1) Is spareparts easy to get?
2) Do they share the same Elegan engine parts?
3) I'm based in Cyberjaya, do Bikerz sell SYM bikes?

Cheers!

Ghazsadon,

Good advice but are there any particular oil that's popular with Elegan
owners? These oil u're talking about are regular 4T oil right? Advisable to
use engine oils like Mobil 1? What about sae requirements?

.....Before get your new bike, please go and survey the tyre cost (Pirelli,
bridgestone,Michelin) and replace it. The original Maxxis tyre(worst than
my continental tyre)come with GTS is very bad for wet road.....(Totti)

Totti,

Any idea what this tyres cost? What is a good intermediate tyre don't want
to spend too much right now, already spent a bomb on bike bought cash! So
got to trade up trade down now would probably be eating store brands for
next few months! Hehe! And do u know where's the best place to get these
tyres, where do u normally go? Read somewhere in Elegan thread that best to
have tyres changed in tyre shop to avoid damaging rims.

Hi Streamer,

I've read somewhere in Elegan thread that parts are interchageable...i
certainly hope so 'cos it's going 2b reassuring to know should the importer
ever close shop we can rely on local parts.

I think the best forummer to answer all this at this point would be Totti
as he has been doing a fair amount of research over the past few months
about this bike. He's this thread official unofficial spokesperson
especially on the technical matters! Totti, do u have any info about the Qs?

Klscoot,

You should be able to get the specification for all the oil used.
(gear/engine) from the manual handbook.

As on the part availability, don’t expect the parts will be available at
any shop like what we have as an Eleganer and all parts are different.
Please read all the related thread and keep up with the latest info.

As on the tyre, Continental is the best value for money (for wet) below
RM 100 but now u hardly can get the 130/12/70 for the rear. The front
13”/90/110 for GTS is a main problem to get in the market (not available
in malaysia due to no demand). When u get the bike, try to pressure the
Distributor to come out with the alternative tyre better than Maxxis.
Singapore’s GTS come with Michelin Gold which cost RM 350.00 per no
set.

KLSCOOt,
So far me n my Elegan friends would use only semi syn or fully syn but
there are few using mineral based 4T and this one guy using car engine
oil! Hahaha

It is ok to use any 4T oil as long they are made for bikes. Yes you can
use car engine oil but you must know that bikes engine rev higher than
cars. Therefore i dont think it's wise to use car's. Spec? Better stick
to what written in manual la, that's the best.

Bro, would u like to join us in our Penang trip this coming 26 n 27 Aug?
Of course, we all would have to apply for leave! hehe

Totti, come la if your bike still availabe at that time! I want to know u
la since your name appears like beribu lemon here :-)
