Hubject, a leader in EV interoperability, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Gentari Green Mobility Sdn Bhd, to integrate Gentari’s network of electric vehicle (EV) chargers with Hubject’s eRoaming platform. Hubject, founded in 2012 and headquartered in Berlin, delivers end-to-end eMobility solutions to power a positive, greener environmental future. Gentari Green Mobility is a wholly-owned subsidiary of clean energy provider Gentari Sdn Bhd.

Gentari Go_App_Map_MalaysiaThis partnership will enable EV drivers to seamlessly charge their vehicles at an expanded network of charging points throughout the region. This collaboration is a significant milestone towards the long-term goal of enhancing the accessibility and reliability of EV charging infrastructure in Malaysia and across Southeast Asia. The integration will be further advanced once Gentari’s charging points are certified for Hubject’s Plug&Charge via the Gentari Go app.

This feature will allow EV drivers to charge their vehicles simply by plugging in, thus eliminating the need for a mobile app or RFID card. Gentari is currently also in discussions with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to enable Plug&Charge capabilities for their vehicles to enhance the seamless charging experience.

“We are delighted to partner with Gentari,” said Hubject CEO, Christian Hahn. “Based on Gentari’s strength in the renewable energy sector, the adoption of EVs will be further supported as renewable energies and electric vehicles are providing the highest level of value, like the collaboration between Gentari and Hubject. This will help to establish Gentari as a new EV mobility champion in Southeast Asia. It’s exactly this kind of collaboration that will scale up the switch to sustainable mobility.”

Gentari is committed to accelerating the shift to sustainable transportation by building an extensive network of EV charging stations, addressing range anxiety, and promoting fast, accessible charging. By integrating renewable energy and leveraging Hubject’s expertise in simplifying EV charging, Gentari is seeking to ensure convenience and encourage more drivers across Southeast Asia to switch from fossil fuel cars to electric mobility.

“We are committed to advancing the transition to sustainable transportation by empowering greater range confidence and ensuring safety, reliability, convenience and value for customers. In line with our vision to become Asia Pacific’s leading green mobility solutions partner, for individuals as well as businesses, this partnership with Hubject will be a key booster towards the seamless integration of EVs into daily transportation options,” said Shah Yang Razalli, Deputy CEO of Gentari and CEO of Gentari Green Mobility.EV_Charging Port

Currently, Gentari operates the largest direct current (DC) charging network in Malaysia, with over 120 DC charging points among more than 400 charging points nationwide. Through its clean energy platform, Gentari Go, the company enables access to over 2,400 chargers across Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand via an EV roaming network. This collaboration with Hubject, which aims to achieve one million networked charge points globally by 2024, is part of Gentari’s strategic objective to streamline the EV charging experience in Southeast Asia using Hubject’s connectivity technology.

Land Rover Malaysia has announced that the latest Defender OCTA is open for registration of interest. Based on the Defender 110, this is the most dynamically accomplished Defender ever created, with unmatched breadth of capability and performance both on- and off-road.

The Defender OCTA is powered by a 4.4L Twin Turbo mild-hybrid V8 engine which delivers a staggering 635 PS (626 hp) and up to 750 Nm of torque. The powertrain delivers peak torque from 1,800 rpm to about 6,000 rpm, providing exceptional drivability and performance across all conditions. This also helps propel the Defender OCTA from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds. Riding on 22″ lightweight alloy wheels and all-season tyres, the Defender OCTA can reach speeds of up to 249 km/h. Land Rover Defender OCTA_Wet Road

Featuring heavily revised chassis components and 6D Dynamics suspension, the OCTA offers unmatched dynamic capabilities. The ride height is raised, stance widened, and wheel arches extended for an imposing presence. Redesigned bumpers enhance approach and departure angles, while robust underbody protection and the ability to wade through up to 1 metre of water ensure it can tackle the toughest terrains.

The Defender OCTA sports a bolder, tougher look with extended wheel arches, raised ride height, and new bumpers. OCTA’s name is derived from the toughest and most desirable mineral on earth i.e. a diamond, and the octahedral shape that gives the distinctive appearance and durability. This shape also inspired the new signature graphic, which denotes it as the flagship Defender i.e. strong and resilient, yet striking, rare and desirable.

Every Defender OCTA wears a new encircled diamond graphic, including a gloss black diamond within a machined and sandblasted titanium disc on each Signature Graphic panel. There is a choice of 2 premium metallic finishes: Petra Copper and Faroe Green.

Inside, the Defender OCTA offers a curated selection of high-quality materials. The Edition One variant, which is available in the first year of production, comes in Faroe Green and features Khaki and Ebony Ultrafabrics PU, which is 30% lighter than traditional leather, and seam-less Knit interior, Chopped Carbon Fibre detailing and 20″ forged alloy wheels with Advanced All-Terrain Tyres.

For Defender OCTA, the standard interior is a new Burnt Sienna semi-aniline leather, with Kvadrat textile trim in Ebony. Alternatively, any Defender OCTA can be specified with Ultrafabrics PU in Light Cloud and Lunar, or semi-aniline leather in Ebony.

The front row of Defender OCTA features all-new Performance Seats with more supportive bolsters and integrated headrests. Defender’s close association with music is also brought to the fore with immersive Body and Soul Seat audio technology – available for the first time in Defender. The Body and Soul Seat has been developed in collaboration with music industry experts SUBPAC and Coventry University, allowing the driver and front passenger to feel, as well as hear, the music. There are 6 wellness programmes available to help relax occupants or help improve cognitive responses on the move, depending on their preference.

Further, the OCTA’s dynamic capabilities are enhanced by hydraulically-interlinked 6D Dynamics suspension technology. The suspension system ensures superior ground clearance and stability, with upgraded wishbones, active dampers, and Brembo calipers for exceptional control on any terrain.

The Defender OCTA features advanced drive modes, including Comfort Mode, Dynamic Mode, and the exclusive OCTA Mode for off-road performance. These modes optimise steering, throttle, and suspension settings, while off-road driver aids like ClearSight Ground View enhance visibility and confidence on rough terrain.

Mark Cameron, Managing Director, Defender, said: “With New Defender OCTA we have been able to unlock the full potential of Defender. It is the very definition of breadth of capability, and a testament to what we can achieve utilising the very best technologies and talents within our engineering division. With its powerful V8 engine, ground-breaking 6D Dynamics suspension technology, exquisite finishes and unique detailing, it is rare, incredibly tough and inherently desirable.”
