The Toyota Start Your Impossible Outrun 2024 not only achieved an impressive turnout and raised significant funds, it also ignited moments of personal triumph and camaraderie. Participants from diverse backgrounds, including over 200 international runners, came together to share stories of resilience and collective determination in the fight against cancer. As the event concluded against the iconic backdrop of Dataran Merdeka, it left a lasting impression of achievement and unity, inspiring future editions to continue pushing boundaries and fostering positive change.

Building on the success of previous years, this year’s event featured a variety of categories, including a 10KM race with a RM50,000 prize pool and a 5KM Fun Run. “We hope that the proceeds from the event will significantly bolster NCSM’s initiatives, including Community Cancer and Health Screening programmes, the transformative Jejak Kanser, and Vaccination Drives. Additionally, these funds will ensure daily transportation for patients residing in Children and Adult’s Homes, providing them with essential access to medical care,” Datuk Ravindran K. added.

The inaugural Toyota Outrun in 2019, organised by UMWT with Malaysia’s Paralympian Abdul Latif as the ambassador, and successfully raised RM151,000 for the Paralympic Council Malaysia. Since then, the event has grown significantly in both participation and funds raised, becoming a cornerstone of Toyota’s commitment to promoting mobility and supporting charitable causes in Malaysia. Looking ahead, UMWT aims to expand the run event to include both a half marathon and a full marathon, with a vision for it to become a major running event in the country.
