Mitsubishi XPANDER Officially Rolls Out From New Pekan Assembly Line

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM), has officially rolled out the Mitsubishi XPANDER from its new assembly line in Pekan, Pahang. Malaysia represents the third country to produce the XPANDER, the others being Indonesia and Vietnam.

Local Assembly Line_CarTo do so, MMM, the official distributor of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles in Malaysia, had invested in setting up local assembly at the HICOM Automotive Manufacturers Sdn Bhd facility in Pekan. This includes a new Body Shop, Painting Jigs and Tester Line. MMM is part of the DRB-HICOM automotive group.

The production line is can roll out up to 6,000 units of Mitsubishi XPANDER annually. The new XPANDER will undergo a Pre-Treatment and Electro Deposition process by doing a 360º somersault in an ED-coat tank in one of the most advanced paint shops in ASEAN.

A robotic spray system applies the primer layer which is then dry heated in an oven bay. Subsequently, the XPANDER is painted again with multiple coats for a fine finish. Additionally, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) certified auditors are stationed at the assembly plant to ensure that the same high global standards and consistent quality of Mitsubishi Motors is applied.
