Locally Assembled Mitsubishi Outlander 2.0 SUV Now Available
Earlier we had covered Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia’s (MMM) roll-out of the Mitsubishi Outlander SUV from the Tan Chong Motors Assemblies production plant. That Outlander is now officially launched and available in all 53 Mitsubishi showrooms nationwide.
The introductory price for the new locally-assembled Mitsubishi Outlander 2.0L 4WD is RM 139,988 (until year-end). The Outlander comes with MMM’s standard factory warranty of 5 years and unlimited mileage.
To recap, the 7-seater Mitsubishi Outlander is a 4-wheel-drive SUV powered by a 2.0L DOHC MIVEC engine with 145 PS and 196 Nm of torque, paired with an INVECS-III CVT transmission. Since SUVs have a high center of gravity, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia had decided to keep the intelligent 4WD feature in this CKD model as part of its active safety for better stability and traction on slippery surfaces e.g. wet roads. The Multi-Select 4WD system in the Outlander has 3 selectable modes – 4WD Eco, 4WD Auto and 4WD Lock – to suit all conditions and terrain.
In terms of safety, the Outlander 2.0L is built with a strong Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) body construction, and equipped with 7 airbags, ABS and EBD, Brake Assist, Active Stability & Traction Control (ASTC), Hill Start Assist (HSA) and ISOFIX child seat mounts as standard. Other notable safety features include Rest Reminder, which reminds the driver to take a break when fatigue steps in, a reverse camera with guide lines, front parking sensors and a front-facing digital video recorder, as well as security solar tint film for all windows.
Other standard features include keyless entry with push button start, automatic headlamps and wipers, 7″ HD touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay functionality (the screen has Air Gesture Control for added convenience), LED daytime running lights, and 18″ alloy wheels.
With the 2nd and 3rd row seats folded down, the Outlander boasts best-in-class cargo volume of 1,608 liters.
MMM will be hosting events at its showrooms in conjunction with the Outlander launch. This weekend (21 – 22 October 2017) in Mitsubishi showrooms in East Malaysia, 3 lucky customers who test-drive the Mitsubishi Outlander will stand a chance to win a brand new iPhone 8.
Further, the first 200 customers who book and register the Mitsubishi Outlander are also entitled for RM300 worth of petrol vouchers.
