Mitsubishi Pajero Sport GS now with upgraded equipment

Mitsubishi Pajero Sport GS now with upgraded equipment

When Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia launched the rear-wheel driven Pajero Sport GL in April, the company then added the GS badge to differentiate the Super Select 4WD variant, but continues to sell it at the same price. Earlier this week, however, MMM began offering the GS with higher levels of equipment at a slight price hike.

Originally sold at RM162,980 (OTR with Insurance, Peninsula Malaysia), the Pajero Sport GS now goes for RM165,980 in the same pricing terms. That’s an increase of RM3,000 and MMM justifies that increase by adding in auto climate control, cruise control, rear spoiler, roof rail, and 2-DIN LCD touch screen with built-in reverse camera into the GS’ array of equipment.

“The Pajero Sport has been a success since its debut in Malaysia last June. And to date, it has found more than 1,000 proud owners. We expect this upgraded GS variant to further widen the appeal of the Pajero Sport. The riding comfort of the seven-seat cabin is one of its biggest strengths, being both versatile and spacious enough to carry long cargo and passengers. With an impressive set of new features, Pajero Sport GS is one of the best in its class,” said Mr Tetsuya Oda, Chief Executive Officer of Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia.

To recap, the ladder frame-mounted Pajero Sport is powered by the 2,477cc 4D56 inline-4 turbo diesel engine with 16 valves and twin camshafts. Paired with the INVECS-II 4-speed automatic transmission, the engine is rated to produce outputs of 134hp @ 5,500rpm and 314Nm @ 2,000rpm.

As before, the Pajero Sport GS will be offered with a 2-year/40,000km free maintenance programme, and comes with a choice of four colours – Eisen Gray Mica, Dark Blue Mica, Platinum Beige Metallic and White Pearl.
