r u refering to the waja with the renault 1.8 engine? i am refering to inspira, aka waja lancer, or walan. the inspira come with 1.8 & 2.0 litre engine, so both should b more powerful than fiesta 1.6, rite?

to my understanding, a bigger car is a safer car. this is what i found on euro ncap website:

"Are large cars safer than small cars?

In frontal impacts between cars, the occupants of the heavier car or the one with higher structures tend to fare better than those travelling in lighter, lower cars. As it is not possible to simulate the influence of mass in a test against a fixed barrier, Euro NCAP recommends comparison only between cars which are of a similar mass (+/- 150kg) and in the same category. Such comparisons allow the relative safety performance of cars to be judged accurately."

the link is as follow:

Why are you comparing a 1.8 and 2.0 engines to a 1.6L engine ? So, if my car cost 150K it should be double the power of the Inspira ? Do you have facts of which car is safer or not I am asking here ? Do you have crach test results of Inspira and Fiesta to substantiate your claim ?

by saying abang adik, i mean they are similar, not one is better than the other.

walan is safer because its bigger, fiesta is safer because it has tc.

Gentlemen, u r right.

The new fiesta ecoboost is unlikely to be just GBP 1,000 more expensive than the fiesta 1.6 ti-vct. Ford will most likely equip the ecoboost version with paddle shifts, torque vectoring, six or seven airbags, bigger front disc n rear disc brakes, fully automatic climate control, cruise control & other unnecessary crap so as to make more profit. This will probably make the ecoboost version a substantial GBP 2,000 or even GBP 2,500 more than the standard 1.6 ti-vct!

In addition, I should not use a multiplying factor of only 5. The current price of the fiesta 1.6 ti-vct is about GBP 15,000 in UK and RM 83,000 in Bolehland. So the multiplying factor to use should be 5.53 (83,000 / 15,000). Hence the price different between the ecoboost and standard version is a hefty RM11,060 (GBP2,000 x 5.53) or RM13,825 (GBP2,500 x 5.53) more!!!

Thank u guys for pointing out the mistake. Cheers. smile_thumbup.gif
