on the TCS, is on all focus variants or only TDCI?

TCS is for TDCi only. The Focus 2.0 has only ABS with EBD.

TCS for the petrol version would be redundant, because the petrol engine isn't overwhelmingly powerful to begin with.

Traction control systems are really only necessary if the car has very high power enough to easily overwhelm tyre grip on heavy throttle.

All new Ford Focus series variants are fitted with a clever automatic hazard warning light activation system, which warns drivers after emergency braking manoeuvres. Additionally, it is equipped with a comprehensive Traction Control System (TCS) to assist in maintaining grip, while driving on loose or slippery surfaces.

The 308 Turbo has these features too.

Deliberately went to Pyramid today to check out the car. Sadly unable to test the main 2 selling features of the car which is century sprint of 9.6seconds and FC of 5.8L/100km. However, I noticed 2 things that I left me wondering ... rear headroom seems to be worse compared to the 308 and no cruise control for the TDCi? True?

i am about 6 feet seating behind is quite ok, yar only little room left.
the thing with focus is the seating is high thus may feel low roof line. i started a unit in jln ipoh, the diesel sound can be heard from the cabin, kinda of dissapointing, dun know because is new or wat

AR159 now that is seriously low roof, my head touching the roof as rear passenger smile_tongue.gif

I really love this car.

When me and my boss went to check out the Focus Sedan few weeks back, it looks like crap. So sedate and boring. Took it for test long test drive and not impress at all. Only thing interesting was the over trade and good discount. However, for some strange reason, this TDCi hatch back was so different and really looks good. But the best of all, its 320NM and 6 speed dual clutch box are the main selling point. Only prob is resale value (also price is a tad higher) and Ford is known for giving huge discount to move car. Especially when the new Focus is coming in after 2011. Well but then, you get 1.5 years of fun.

Btw, I would compare this car with Golf GTi, Renalt R26 (maybe a little ambitious here) and BMW 320d which are almost double in price.

Hm... perhaps. Petrol vs Petrol, bhp vs bhp is about the same but then they are not availabel in My.

Btw, I already given up on GTi already. Switching focus to Focus!! At least closer to my budget smile_tongue.gif

Can anyone comment on the disadvantage of a diesel engine? I understand that it is louder, greater vibration and less efficient than a petrol engine?

I also heard that the twin-clutch system has lotsa reliability problem, this is coming from the mechanic of Volvo who services the new s40.

Would the back seat comparable with Mazda3 since both sits on the same platform?
