this afternoon. The muffler looks nice and much lighter than the stock
muffler. However the hole is not big at all, almost the same size as the
original muffler. Picture below
I was initially worried coz the hole looks much smaller that Aaronlims
custom muffler. But I guess they designed the muffler hole to suit 250 cc
bike and so that at least some back-pressure is maintained. So when they
run the engine for the first time with the new muffler, I must say I was a
little bit dissapointed. It didn't give out that big throaty sound, almost
same like the original muffler. Lan told me not to worry as he said its
common. The muffler needs to be run-in also so that the fiber-filling the
tabung can set it. He said the sound should get better over time. He also
re-jet the carb to size 105 to suit the new muffler.
True enough, as the run the bike longer, the sound got better. The muffler
gave out this burning smell, due to the fiber filling setting in. By the
time I rode my bike off, I was happy. The sound was much better and the
best thing, it has that explosive 'pop, pop, pop' sound whenever I close the
throttle after accelarating and down-shifting the gear. You guys can hear
the sound from my video I uploaded at Youtube.com below
All in all, it took 2 hours including servicing my bike plus changing rear
brake pad (haud sebab trackday kot). The bike feel lighter and accelarate
better too. I don't know if this is because of the service or because of
the new muffler. I guess the only way to know is on Sepang trackday. Last
trackday, I can only reach 155 kph on the back front straight. So if I can
reach 160++ kph on the straight again, means the accelaration got better.
Lan also re-oiled my clutch, now the clutch feels like when I first bought

new muffler gives out a louder terkentut pop pop sound (it happens once in
a while only when you close down the throttle, like those motor kapchai tua
exhaust meletup-letup). I think the sound is caused when sometimes un-burnt
fuel from the cyclinder goes into the exhaust pipe and explodes there.
Somemore with my carburator re-jet from size 95 to size 105, means more
fuel in my mixture (also mean guzzles more petrol). I guess this how it
happens, maybe I'm wrong. I believe Azhar knows the actual reason why.

Any update on your bike performance after installing the new muffler?

Well so far the muffler is doing good. Performance?
Top Speed - Remains the same at 172 kph. I tested again at KLIA and Elite
Highway on the way back from Sepang yesterday. Maybe the only improvement
is I reached that speed on a flat road instead of going downhill.
Pick-up - I felt that the pick-up is much much better with the new muffler,
but feeling is subjective. Quantatively, I think there's not much
improvement. Before the new muffler, I managed max 155 kph on Sepang front
straight before I ran out of space to accelerate. Yesterday on track, I
managed to consistently go around 160 kph on the straight. Not sure its
because of the pick-up or because I took turn 15 better. Anyway, I was on
average 20 seconds faster per lap on with the new muffler. I'm sure at
least a bit can be attributed to the pick-up.
Fuel Consumption - I've gotta wait till my next refuel before calculating.
Sepang trackday FC cannot be counted.
All in all, the only big thing about the new muffler is the sound. I love
the loud explosive pop-pop sounds whenever I downshift from 5th to 3rd
gear when I approach Sepang Turn 1. The new muffler sure makes known that
it has V-twin engine at heart, not some for 4-inline.

parts for our bike. It will be a good reference point and as a guide. Tak
ler kena semelih bila beli parts. I can create a new page in my website for
Blade Spare Parts price and shops. Better if I can do it in Excel format
and anybody can update it.

give you a higher top speed.
For me, need to change the muffler soon before the spocket.
Now no ride, Bike still under upgrading program. Hope to complete after
the Raya holidays. I'm still looking for a suitable digital speedometer.
