best. I travel via that roiad to west coast most of the time, but if i
travel with my family , at night i prefer jeli -grik route. i feel safer as
the road is heavier trfficked then the lonlier GM-SPG Pulai road. oh btw
the bridges at lojing r ok now, so no need to detour via jalan kebun sayur
anymore.
the bridge at dabong... hmm i think it's completed a years back . Pak Lah
went to officiated it. The road from GM to Jeli is ok now save for one
10metre stretch that yet to be paved. if you pass this route, take a
breather at stong waterfall.
Happy holiday n have a nice weekend.

night. Nice to know the bridge at Lojing is OK now and no need to masuk
jln kebun sayur (that road so narrow, winding and full of pot holes)
Stong? Yes very nice. Been there a number of times, usually to climb
Stong/Ayam. "Top of the waterfalls" is a nice place, too. Early morning
sunrise view over the kampung is breathtaking.

once i went to bertam valley to get some plants for my bro's nursery. Set
out from CH at 7.00 heading east. Taking that road to Gm at night is not a
very pleasant experience. I breathed a big sigh of relief upon reaching
kuala betis/CH/Gm interchange....
every strange noise set all the butterflies in your stomach running amuk!!!
n i try not to think too much about the noise n the being from other world
!!! my BPM must be at stratospheric level.
that's the first n the last time i think that i will take that road in d
dead of the night...
Stong.. plan to go there last raya, but something crop up!!
BTW jalan kebun sayur is not only narrow, winding and full of pot holes
but so steep at so many places. i don't think there's any other road in
malaysia with 15% gradient.
Take care, n safe motoring

the scenic views atop the highway along Simpang Pulai to Gua Musang
( and Tanah Rata is in between )
is simply magical, magnificent to say the least ...
awesome ... splendid splendour majestic scenes ...
it is as if u r inside an aeroplane looking out the cabin windows
and to both sides of the road at certain stretches ...
u r actually at the highest point along the main mountain range ...
and to both sides u see sweeping valleys of greenery and blue skies
with intermittent drizzles and misty clouds kissing your
car windscreen ... drive slowly to soak it all in ...
switch off your aircond to take in deep breaths of those
unpolluted fresh air ...
Cheers and have a nice day then

if u r travelling from east to west, beware!. the slope at the climb a
few KM before post brooke had slide again. Last two years they had fixed
this slope but now it seems that the landslide had occured again. i'm
worried esp now when heavy rain is predicted to hit norteastern states
hard...
so to all motorist, beware...and safe motoring

is it still passable? only travelled once since it was completed (did once
many years ago when it was a "balak" track on a bike) This is the most
beautiful road in Msia, for me at least. Like to drive there again, just
to soak in the scenery and maybe stay the night at CH, yeah that would be
nice.

as of 1st of jan, the aformentioned landslide only affected just one lane
of that four lane section. but the rest of the slope look ready to slide
downhill!!! at least to my pessimistic eyes.
but as i said earlier, it is a four lane segment. so if one or two lane was
effected, there';s another two that can be utilised by reverting to contra
flow on the "good" side of the road.. thay've done it before when they
repaired that segment before.
CH...nice place to be, my favourite holiday spot
anyway, if u plan to travel that road, do it with caution.and beware of the
downhill bit... it bites
