I don't know the full name, but this is the new road people use to go to
Cameron Highland, and it continue to the East. Does anyone know if it has
been completed 100% ? And where does it end ?
Thanks.

This road is considered the 3rd east-west highway; 1st is the karak
highway, 2nd is the grik-jeli highway.
Yes it starts at simpang pulai and goes all the way to gua musang but
not "highway" all the way. There are some sections, as of Dec2005, that
are just normal road, especially near Loging and kg kuala betis near gua
musang. Other than these stretches, it is wonderful, you should try it out

I'm wondering if I could reach Tasik Kenyir on this road. If it can, it
should take much shorter time.

gua musang, even then from Ku Betis to gua musang is normal country road.
Believe the extension to tasik kenyir (kuala berang) not ready yet,
someone pls confirm.

ready and I believe it is still far from complete unless they had been
working very hard without anyone noticing.

Tried that road from Kenyir towards Gua Musang a few months back, just for
fun. The road was not complete. There are no signboards, milestones or
anything else to show where you are. The first few km are tarmac road and
there are lane lines on it.
The tarmac ends near a wide bridge about 20km from Kenyir after that it was
gravel road. I turned back at the bridge.
Did not see any traffic at all on this road and luckily did not see any
gajah either

The wide winding roads and the smooth tarmac would make it a good drift
track

Acegt ,
You seem to be the expert on this stretch of road ...
Can check with you ?
If we are coming up from Kuantan , do we need to go up to KT to go to
Kenyir ?
Or is there a shorter cut ?
If I use the E-W Highway from Grik - Jeli - KT - Kerteh - Kuantan and
then return , is there any alternative route to this ?
I heard ( heard only ) the alternative is N-S Highway , exit Simpang
Pulai - Gua Musang - Kenyir - Kuala Berang - Dungun - Kerteh - Kuantan
Me from Penang , thanks
Thanks

From Kuantan u take a Jerangau Jabor road that will take u straight to
Kuala Berang... straight into the vicinity of tasik kenyir....
If u go to Kt, U need to waste another hour n maybe around 60 - 70 km to
drive to Kuala Berang, the staging point to tasik kenyir.
If I use the E-W Highway from Grik - Jeli - KT - Kerteh - Kuantan and
then return , is there any alternative route to this ?
The road via simpang pulai to Gua musang is opened to traffic. the problem
is the route between felda aring(or is it ciku?) to Kuala Berang is not yet
fully 100% ready. In a 4wd u can tackle this route n u can make it safely
to Kuala berang.
If I use the E-W Highway from Grik - Jeli - KT - Kerteh - Kuantan and
then return , is there any alternative route to this ?
the best bet is via east west to KT. But around 40km from Kt u take a
shortcut at Sungai Tong to Kuala Berang. The road is well signposted. no
problem.
U will save around 2 hours.
