Fact is used Forte could sell faster than used Sylphy, used Latio and even used Sentra N16. It is confirmed Forte resale value is ahead of N-brand sedan cars category. My 2 friends who owned Sylphy are best examples.

The used Forte 2.0 only first year bad due to zero effort by Naza and cannibalised by brand new Forte 1.6. Looking at Forte 2.0 depreciation rate, it is as stable as Forte 1.6.

In comparison to Sylphy 2.0, its depreciation drops like flies get smoked by Shieldtox. Despite no Sylphy 1.6 brand new available, its RV is poor due to bad demand. Brand new Sylphy 2.0 at RM120k, but first year dropped to asking price RM80k still can't sell then drop further to RM75k, then RM70k. It's depreciation rate is not even stable. Lowest price sold to 2nd hand owner recorded RM60k.

Latio RV slightly better than Sylphy but still not good due to less demand for used unit. Fact is, the car design is 1 of the factor that determines RV. If design too weird and not so car like, it will not fetch good value.

Mind you Civic '06-12 RV is best in C-segment at the moment followed by Altis then Forte. Elantra RV is above Forte and closer to Altis. Also, since big event is just around the corner, expect less demand for cars be it new or used. So don't try to take any of the current scenario as example for used Korean cars. People are waiting for the new policy at the moment.

Useless Jayrapecrap, don't try to twist the fact and use your own imagination to dream that your Forte and Elantra RV is very high, the fact is you are bloody lazy just sit in front of your computer screen and keep dreaming your lowya Forte and Elantra RV is good. Yeah keep dreaming lar, even in US the Forte and Elantra used to have lower RV compare to those Japanese rival. My friend is doing used car business and he knows everything about used car market more than you million of times, so don't keep pretending you are an expert, you are just a nut know nothing, yeah, you can everyday go to mudah or OTO or motortrader or even autoworld to create an advertisement to sell multiple non-existent Forte and Elantra for sale, and you even can bump the price over the Civic, Altis, Sylphy.... whatever up to you, and see the screen, wah, Forte and Elantra RV is above those Japanese rival already, this is call syiok sendiri, and you used to do it right!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, Forte and Elantra RV has improved, only in those Mudah, OTO, autoworld,motortrader..... and you can see every week most of them the same car they advertised, non-stop, in real life, used car market is still labelled them as "very low demand, low value" models. I saw a used car dealer in JB near Tmn Molek there, outside there got parking 4 Hyundai Sonata YF white colour and black colour, I think last year around July or August those Sonata already there and last month when I passed by that shop again, I still saw those Sonata parking there. Honestly ask yourself, a Hyundai Sonata 2.0 year 2009, what is the fair price you gonna buy it if compare to Camry 2.0 2009, Accord 2.0 2009, Teana 2.0 2009...... I think insie your heart already got the answer!

You took these few months situation to compare? Ever since the news on big event is near and later announced, all used car and even new car market are stalled. Reason being every1 is waiting for the new policy after big event over. At the moment, cars that are more expensive will be harder to sell.

You have no experience in buying 2nd hand cars yet pretend like you know what's going on. Fyi, I do buy used cars and so are my buddies. You only go for new car be it P1/P2 or Japs and even Koreans. Ok? So we know that Forte RV is better than N-brand while Elantra is somewhere closer to Toyota and Honda. D-segment category, Camry is king of RV followed by Accord while Sonata RV is in fact better than Teana.

Therefore you don't know that so far used car dealers only markup highly on Japanese cars and the actual price that used car dealers would pay is the actual market price. Those used to buy used cars are not as dumb as you and they would check everything especially actual market price and also actual condition of the car as used car dealers are like conman. Higher preference is given to actual owners selling themselves.

Try not to behaved like Kaylcar demanding everybody to use British Counsel English, I am quite sure you got his drift on this.

He meant even in USA, Korean car RV are not as good as their Japanese rival, those price publish in mudah, oto & etc are merely inflated price, no one in the right mind would pay such a high price for used Korean car.

No ! I did not take TOFL nor English 1119 test, but I do hope you are able to understand my humble write up.

jolokia & feelfree,

You bunch don't even buy used car nor know any knowledge on buying used car want to talk about RV? Local Mudah, MotorTrader, OTO, etc. Japanese car asking price are mostly markup 5%-10% to trap waterfish. Actual selling price is the price paid by the new 2nd hand owner that is much lower than the asking price. Used Forte car price posted on these portals are market value price instead of fake markup.

Those I knew buying used Japanese & Korean cars in these 2 years until present, the used Forte is not cheap compared to used Latio, N16 and Sylphy. All they can say is Forte is not that cheap. Latio, N16 and SYlphy however can be bargained further and they cost real dirt cheap in RV due to low demand.

Used car in US, those who buy used cars are either:
1) Students and those who just started working
2) Low income group
3) Technical people and wanted to experiment with mods and overhauling
4) Classic or muscle car hunter looking for cars that are rare and no longer available brand new

RV for any car in US are all low, even few months old would depreciated half value gone. Civic '10, Forte '10 brand new around US$16k, 1-2 years later priced at US$7-9k depends on mileage and condition. Their price difference at mere hundreds to relatively the same. What RV you want to talk about? You just picked blindly American comments without knowing what are they talking about.

What determines good RV for used cars in US:
1) Cars with great performance and handling
2) Design and build quality, luxury level
3) Collector item like classic muscle car (best RV)
4) Cars brought up in TV, movie and video games like RX7/RX8 (2nd best RV)

Other than these, be it Toyota, Honda or Hyundai, their RV are all cheap and any1 could easily afford to buy. Their 1 year mileage could exceed 100,000km and when you get them is equivalent to you getting a 3-4 years old car here. Much repair is required for 2-3 years old car in US. I think you bunch are thinking that their RV is like here.

So ur logic been japanese used car price advertised on mudah & oto been inflated while korean used car price publish by the very same website been actual price ?
Used korean car price sold by used car dealer is non negotiable as it is very rare, while used japanese (in particular Nissan) r open for huge discount as it is very common ?
Wahahahaha smile_big.gif
So a 2-3 years Forte 2.0 asking 60K while new unit selling for close to 100K which mean approx 40% drop in value r not consider low RV, while same year Sylphy which sold for 70K compare to new 110K which is about 33% drop in valu is consider bad RV.
People will actually buy a used Forte 1.6 at a similar if not higher price than a used Forte 2.0 ?
Very logic lah U smile_tongue.gif

People buy used car base on video game ?? Since most game features japanese car so people buy used japanese car. Really ? No jokes, LOL.... smile_clown.gif

My weekend just ain't complete without ur hilarious out of this world jokes....
