Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM), the official distributor of Mitsubishi vehicles, together with its authorised dealer Lajina Motors Sdn Bhd, has launched a new Mitsubishi Motors 3S Centre (Sales, Service & Spare Parts) in Jerteh, Terengganu. This opening marks the 3rd Mitsubishi 3S outlet in the state, further expanding the brand’s footprint. In total, there are now 61 Mitsubishi showrooms nationwide.

The new facility is strategically located at Lot 3309-3310, Jalan Padang Luas, Taman Pelangat 2, 22000 Jerteh, along the main road which connects Kota Bharu and Kuala Terengganu. Alongside the Zeekr X, brand distributor for Malaysia – Sentinel Automotive Sdn Bhd, also introduced the Zeekr 009 all-electric luxury MPV. At launch, the Zeekr 009 will come in 2 variants i.e. 7-seater Luxury, and 6-seater Ultra Luxury. Retail price is estimated around the RM370,000 region, and a fully refundable booking fee of RM4,000 is required to secure a unit.Zeekr 009_Side

The Zeekr 009 is currently the most powerful MPV in its segment. The dual electric motor setup provides 450 kW and 693 Nm of torque, enabling this MPV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in only 4.5 seconds. Providing power for the motors is a 116 kWh battery which is good for a driving range of up to 582 km (WLTP). The Zeekr 009 supports 150 kW DC fast charging which means the battery can be charged to 80% State-of-Charge (SoC) in 30 minutes (from 10% SoC).

As a luxury MPV, the Zeekr 009 maximises the box shape, and complements it with design touches such as the striking vertical lines of the front ‘grille’ and daytime running lights. The headlights further down the front are intelligent matrix projection LED units with Adaptive Driving Beam and Intelligent Zoning Lighting features. Vertical lines also feature prominently at the back, but grouped in a horizontal layout to form the tail light cluster and light bar across the tailgate.

In terms of size, the Zeekr 009 measures 5,209 mm long, 2,024 mm wide and 1,812 mm tall. Its wheelbase is 3,205 mm long, to ensure maximum passenger and cargo space while offering comfort and ride stability. For further enhancement of comfort, the Zeekr 009 uses dual-chamber air suspension with adjustable height and damping rates. Sound insulation is also improved, with the 009 rated at 64.5 dB at 120 km/h, which is about the level of a normal conversation in an office or background music.

Inside, the passengers get to enjoy Sofaro first class seats upholstered in Nappa leather. The 2nd and 3rd row seats also come with massage and ventilation function for extra comfort on long journeys. In the Ultra Luxury 6-seater variant, the 2nd row seats feature a hidden seat tray also in Nappa leather finish. The 2nd row is also equipped with a smart bar that provides easy access to controls for climate and seat functions. Also in the 2nd row is a high definition camera that allows the driver and/or front passenger to monitor the occupants in the rear. This of course, can be shut for privacy. Additionally, there is an 8.6 litre fridge with cooling and warming functions so your refreshments stay the way you like it. And for the 3rd row, there is a one-button easy entry and exit feature for convenience.

Still for the rear occupants is a 17″ OLED monitor mounted on the roof, for entertainment on long trips. For the driver, there is a 15.05″ OLED centre display housing all the vehicle, media and navigation functions. Paired to the infotainment system is a 30-speaker Yamaha sound system which includes headrest speakers. With this, the driver can effectively be separated from the rest of the infotainment media and take hands-free calls with more privacy. The driver also gets a large 35.95″ Augmented Reality Head-up Display (ARHUD) which projects key driving information onto the windscreen, allowing the driver to keep eyes on the road yet not miss out on crucial information.

The Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) that is fitted in the Zeekr 009 includes Lane Centering Control, Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Mitigation Support Front, Collision Mitigation Support Rear, Lane Keeping System, Blind Spot Detection, Door Open Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition, Driver Performance Monitor, Speeding Reminder Warning, and Parking Emergency Brake. Furthermore, it comes standard with a comprehensive suite of Vehicle Guard / Vehicle Safety Protection System that includes a 360-degree camera, and digital video recording.

WTC Automotif (M) Sdn Bhd (WTCA) has expanded the GAC GS3 Emzoom lineup with 2 new locally-assembled variants i.e. Standard and Exclusive. These additions come after the launch of the GS3 Emzoom Premium R as a completely knocked-down (CKD) model in August. The new Standard variant is priced at RM103,800, while the Exclusive is now available at RM116,800 – RM2,000 less than the previous fully-imported version. To have a competitive price, what the Standard variant does without are such features as rear air vents, rear reading lights, USB Type-C port in front, and Type-A port in the rear, rear centre armrest and headrest, and surround-view camera offering instead, a basic reverse camera. It also features manual air conditioning, fabric seats, a urethane steering wheel, 2 speakers, analogue meters, and conventional cruise control. Safety equipment includes dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, and electronic stability control, but it does not feature advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

Moving up to the mid-range Exclusive variant, this variant includes climate control, rear air vents, leatherette steering wheel, leatherette seats, rear reading lights, dual side airbags, 4 speakers, 7″ digital instrument cluster, rear USB Type-A port. The Exclusive includes ADAS features such as Integrated Cruise Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Traffic Jam Assist, Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Intelligent Speed Limit Control, and Traffic Sign Recognition.

On the other hand, the Premium R adds exclusive features such as the R-Style sport package, R-Style sport exhaust, automatic headlights, panoramic sunroof with sunshade, hands-free powered tailgate, 6-way powered adjustment for driver’s seat, rear centre armrest and headrest, front sun visors with mirror and light, multi-colour ambient lighting, side curtain airbags, wireless charger, 6 speakers, USB Type-C port in front, and front parking sensors. Furthermore, its ADAS suite includes High Beam Assist, and Fusion Automatic Parking Assist.

Exterior colour choices vary across the variants. The Standard comes in Asphalt Black and Frost White, while the Exclusive adds Superstar Silver and Salt Lake Blue. The Premium-R is available in all these colours plus a variant-exclusive Graphite Grey. Incidentally, Asphalt Black and Graphite Grey are exclusive to the Malaysian market.

The GS3 Emzoom in Malaysia is GAC Motor’s first CKD as well as right-hand-drive project. To celebrate this milestone, WTCA has launched the “Rev Up With Emzoom” campaign which will run until 31 December 2024. The campaign offers cash rebates of RM5,000 for the Exclusive variant and RM7,000 for the Premium R. Additionally, customers can opt for a bundle that includes Complimentary Maintenance Service and a Smart Watch Key worth RM1,388 in place of the cash rebates.

The GAC GS3 Emzoom is covered by a 5-year (or 150,000 km) vehicle warranty. The first 2,000 customers will also enjoy an additional 7-year (or 180,000 km) warranty on the engine and transmission. Sentinel Automotive Sdn Bhd, the official distributor of Zeekr vehicles in Malaysia, as well as provider of sales, aftersales service and spare parts, has started to accept bookings for the Zeekr X. Estimated to wear a retail price tag of RM180,000, the Zeekr X is now available for booking for a fee of RM2,000 (refundable). It will be available in 2 variants i.e. Premium and Flagship AWD.

The Zeekr X is a compact urban SUV that is fully electric, and combines luxury, performance and cutting-edge technology. It is designed and engineered for the global market, offering style, comfort, performance, intelligence and safety. Do note that the display vehicle at the preview does not have the exact specifications and features as the one which will be official on sale. For example, the Malaysian version will not get a mini fridge in the centre console.

Design-wise, the Zeekr X is based on the golden ratio for an aesthetically pleasing appearance and aerodynamic efficiency. Embodying a bold design language that blends modern aesthetics with advanced functionality, it draws attention with its sleek, aerodynamic profile and futuristic elements.

At the front, the Zeekr X features double-edge LED daytime running lights for a futuristic appeal, as well as LED headlights integrated into the bumper. The side profile of the Zeekr X is defined by a smooth, flowing line from the hood to the rear, emphasising its aerodynamic efficiency. The hidden door handles further add to an aerodynamic profile. Meanwhile, the frameless doors give it a more high-end yet minimalist look. Additionally, embedded in the driver’s side B-pillar is a display for features such as Pet and Rest modes as well as Charging, to notify people who may pass by the vehicle.

At the rear, the Zeekr X’s design features sharp edges and a distinctive slim LED light strip running the width of the tailgate. The rear design is both functional and striking, with a spoiler enhancing the vehicle’s performance capabilities and visual presence.

Inside, the Zeekr X continues its design-forward approach with a minimalist, tech-oriented cabin. A large 14.6″ central infotainment touchscreen dominates the dashboard, and high-quality soft-touch surfaces, and metallic rose gold finishings, create a luxurious and modern atmosphere. The cabin design is spacious, with a focus on passenger comfort and practicality, enhanced by a flat floor typical of EVs. Further enhancing cabin ambience is a large panoramic sunroof that lets in light but shields the occupants from heat. Setting the interior mood is the ice block ambient lighting that is customisable. Other interior features include a 50W wireless charger, an Augmented Reality Head-up Display (AR-HUD), and intelligent voice command system for hands-free operation of functions.

The all-wheel-drive Zeekr X Flagship offers a maximum power output of 315 kW (422 hp) and 543 Nm from its dual-motor setup, enabling it to accelerate from 0 – 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. Meanwhile, the Zeekr X Premium has a single motor providing 200 kW (268 hp), with a century sprint done in 5.6 seconds. The 66 kWh battery provides a driving range of up to 440 km (WLTP), and supports 150 kW fast charging which can charge it to 80% (from 10%) in 30 minutes.

The Zeekr X has 5-star Euro NCAP and Green NCAP ratings. Its safety features are aided by 5 cameras, 5 radars, and Level 2+ ADAS (Advanced Driving Assistance System). The ADAS suite includes Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Automatic Lane Change (ALC), Lane Centering Control (LCC), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Collision Mitigation Support Front (CMSF), Collision Mitigation Support Rear (CMSR), Door Open Warning (DOW), Front Cross Traffic Alert (FCTA), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Parking Emergency Braking (PEB), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Evasive Manoeuvre Assist (EMA), and Driver Performance Monitor (DPM). There is also automatic parking assist as a convenience feature.

The Go-To-Safety Point (GTSP) Programme, launched in 2013, has seen Petron transform a majority of its service stations into one-stop assistance centres for the communities they serve. Great Wall Motor (GWM) Malaysia has officially launched the GWM Haval H6 Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV), setting a new benchmark in the C-segment SUV category. Combining an advanced hybrid powertrain with sleek design and state-of-the-art technology, the Haval H6 HEV is expected to attract those who seek a fuel-efficient and spacious family vehicle.

At the heart of the Haval H6 HEV is a 1.5L turbocharged direct injection petrol hybrid engine that delivers a combined output of 243 PS and 530 Nm of torque. Paired with the engine is a 2-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) that ensures seamless transitions between petrol and electric power, resulting in excellent fuel efficiency of 5.8L/100km. Working within this hybrid system is a 1.76 kWh high-energy, super discharge ability battery cell from CATL. As a result, the Haval H6 HEV boasts a claimed 0 – 100 km/h acceleration time of 7.7 seconds, and can travel up to 1,000 km on a single tank (61L). There is also a launch control feature that reduces the century sprint time by 0.2 seconds.

 

On the exterior, the Haval H6 HEV bears a conventional SUV profile complemented by a striking geometric star matrix  grille flanked by ultra-bright LED headlights. At the rear, the horizontal LED tail light across the tailgate improve night-time visibility and enhances road presence. Integrated into the roof spoiler are a pair of brake lights, for better visible presence. Finishing off the exterior are 19″ alloy wheels with 225/55 profile tyres.

Inside, the cabin is designed with comfort and convenience in mind. The driver gets to enjoy a powered 6-way adjustable seat (with 2-way lumbar support, and ventilation), a 10.25″ digital instrument cluster, head-up display, and a 12.3″ infotainment system paired with 8 speakers and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The front passenger seat has 4-way powered adjustment and ventilation. On the side bolster of the front passenger seat is the Boss Switch which allows the rear passenger to adjust the front seat to make room.

The H6 HEV’s practicality extends to its spacious boot, offering 560 litres that can be expanded to 1,485 litres with the rear 60:40 split seats folded. The cargo space can be accessed via a powered tailgate with kick sensor. Also keeping the cabin feeling spacious is the panoramic sunroof.

Additional features include wireless charging, 360-degree camera system with transparent chassis view, and ionizer.

Safety features involve Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features which include:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
  • Lane Keeping Assist (LKA)
  • Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR)
  • Lane Change Assist (LCA)
  • Blind Spot Detection (BSD)
  • Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB)
  • Auto Reversing Assistance (ARA), which can reverse the vehicle up to 50 meters using its memory of previous routes.

Additionally, the Haval H6 HEV body frame is made of 71.61% high-strength steel, and 2,000 MPa thermoformed steel for enhanced occupant protection. It also comes with 6 airbags.

For added convenience, the Automated Parking System (APS) takes over to park the H6 for you.
