Proton Clarifies On Bitcoin Usage In Buying Cars

News has been floating around cyberspace and social media recently that one can buy a Proton vehicle using Bitcoin. This stems from pictures circulated on the internet of a Proton dealer advertising the acceptance of the said cryptocurrency for sales transactions.

Proton wishes to clarify that this offer was independently initiated by one of its dealers and that while the company welcomes innovative ways of selling cars, it has yet to officially recognise transactions in anything other than those in Malaysia Ringgit.

Proton has revealed that the said dealer has been suspended from operating pending an inquiry.
