UMW Toyota Motor has announced upgrades in equipment packages of several Toyota models to be offered at no extra charge effective 1 September 2015.

Firstly, the DVD-AVN (Audio-Visual-Navigation) Infotainment System with Reverse Camera that is already provided with the 1.5G and TRD Sportivo variants of the Vios is now fitted standard the 1.5E model as well. The DVD-AVN Infotainment system, designed by Toyota, has a 7-inch Capacitive Touch Screen and can connect to compatible smartphones to stream audio or provide internet access when connected with a smartphone subscribed to a wireless data connection). Other features include an Internet Browser, Voice Recognition, HDMI and GPS navigation as well as a Reverse Camera.

Both automatic and manual variants of the entry level Vios 1.5J, meanwhile get the DVD-AVX Entertainment System also at no extra charge. This comes with a 6.1-inch touchscreen which displays the image from the Reverse Camera. It has a number of options to connect to portable devices and also USB and SD card slots. Unlike the DVD-AVN system in the higher models however, the DVD-AVX unit does not have a navigation function.

Additionally, the Vios 1.5J and 1.5E also get Toyota Premium Security & Solar Film at no extra charge. Besides reducing heat transmission and glare, the film also strengthens the window glass so that it does not shatter when hit by a large object. This reduces the risk of break-ins and snatch thefts, giving occupants more peace of mind.

For the C-segment Corolla Altis, UMW Toyota Motor adds even more value to the model with a free custom-designed Aerokit and free DVD-AVN Infotainment System for all three variants, while stocks last. The Aerokit is installed by trained personnel at UMW Toyota Motor’s accessories centre and comes with warranty, covering manufacturing defects. The DVD-AVN Infotainment System here is programmed with the same functions as the unit offered in the Vios.

The eight-seater Innova has also been upgraded with extra accessories provided free of charge (while stocks last). First is the same Toyota DVD-AVN Infotainment System as offered in the Vios and Corolla Altis above. The higher 2.0G variant additionally gets a rear entertainment system with a ceiling-mounted 8-inch monitor, Toyota Premium & Security Film, and a portable tyre pump.

Finally, the Toyota Alphard large MPV is being offered with a specially-designed TRD Aerokit including Daytime Running Lights, door visors, Toyota Premium & Security Film, and a 10.2-inch ceiling-mounted full-colour monitor is offered at no charge. This complements the standard high-quality audio-visual (AV) entertainment system that comes with every Alphard. The AV system has a 7-inch touchscreen with a DVD Player, GPS navigation and rear camera.

A popular model widely available from private importers, Alphards bough from UMW Toyota Motor and its authorised Toyota dealers comes with assurance of full aftersales support covered by a manufacturer’s warranty of 3 years or 100,000 km (whichever comes first). The full aftersales support, including availability of all replacement and Toyota Genuine parts, is available nationwide at over 70 authorised Toyota service centres with well trained technicians to look after the vehicle. Whenever necessary, owners can also count on support available from Toyota Motor Corporation’s technical division in Japan.
