Kia Sponsors 2022 Professional Golf Of Malaysia Championship

The 2022 Professional Golf of Malaysia (PGM) Tour happening today and tomorrow sees Kia as title sponsor. The 2022 PGM Kia Championship is a 54-hole tournament taking place at the Garden Course of the Glenmarie Hotel & Golf Resort.

The tournament will feature most of the country’s leading men and women players with the likes of Shahriffuddin Ariffin, Nicholas Fung and Danny Chia in the men’s category, and Aretha Pan, Mirabel Ting and Ainil Johani in the women’s category.

“What excites us most here is not only that this is the inaugural tournament of the Kia Championship, but we also have a strong field in both men’s and women’s categories at Glenmarie this week. This is really a welcome development for the PGM Tour and Dinamikjaya Motors Sdn Bhd.” said Dato Sri Ben Yeoh, Bermaz Auto Berhad Executive Chairman.

Dinamikjaya Motors Sdn Bhd is the sole distributor for Kia vehicles in Malaysia and is a subsidiary of Bermaz Auto Berhad. Bermaz Auto also has a joint venture company with Kia Motors Corp, South Korea, called Kia Malaysia Sdn Bhd which is tasked with producing and marketing Kia vehicles in Malaysia.

Bermaz Auto believes that the tournament is an encouraging platform for both the experienced and the young, aspiring golfers in Malaysia to showcase their skills, and to help open doors for more opportunities for them to take their game to the next level. It is also a platform to further publicise the Kia branding in the country.

Featured in the tournament is the Kia Carnival MPV. Initially imported CBU from Korea as an 11-seater MPV, Kia Malaysia will be assembling the Carnival locally with more luxurious appointments (and fewer seats) than the fully imported variant.
