Shell Recharge Station Network Provides Seamless Charging Connectivity For Cross-Country EV Driving

Shell Malaysia and Porsche Asia Pacific’s partnership sees the establishment of the longest cross-country high performance charging (HPC) in Southeast Asia. This charging network will provide EV users with seamless fast charging connectivity from Singapore to Malaysia to Thailand.

Earlier this year, Shell and Porsche jointly launched the first Shell Recharge High Performance Charging station in Tangkak. The completion of all 6 Shell Recharge HPC sites in Malaysia confirms both partners’ commitment to sustainably connect the 3 markets i.e. Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore, making them the leader in e-mobility for the people across Malaysia and the region. The 6 stations, strategically located along the North-South Expressway (NSE), are Shell Hentian Tangkak Lay-By (South Bound), Shell Hentian Pagoh Rest Area (North Bound), Shell Hentian RTC Simpang Pulai (North Bound), Shell Hentian Tapah RSA NSE (South Bound), Shell Hentian Seremban R&R NSE (North Bound) and Shell Hentian Seremban R&R NSE (South Bound).

All 6 of these Shell Recharge HPC stations are located less than a 200 km range from one another and enables drivers to explore new and exciting destinations without the fear of driving range limitations. For instance, the Porsche Taycan EV has a driving range of approximately 400 km, depending on variant and battery pack option. Thus, a Taycan has sufficient range for cross-country travel and only needs topping up during the journey.Porsche Taycan_EV

The Shell Recharge HPC stations are equipped with 180 kW high performance chargers which come with a pair of CCS Type 2 charging connectors. These charging connectors allow for a single vehicle to be charged at up to 180 kW, or 2 vehicles to charge simultaneously at up to 90 kW each. This application significantly reduces the waiting time in between charges. While waiting for their EV to be recharged, drivers can take a break at Shell and enjoy the offerings from Deli2Go or utilise the various amenities provided at the stations.

In Malaysia, the charging points can be reserved by EV users through Shell’s ParkEasy app. Customers are able to reserve the HPC parking bay up to 60 minutes in advance. Other features include navigation access for EV customers to locate available bays, and a parking barrier to ensure the bay’s security while charging.Shell Recharge HPC Station_Porsche Taycan EV
