This Scania P410A6X2NA NTG is fitted with a host of ADR safety features. ADR is short for The Agreement Concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road. The truck is equipped with Scania’s advanced Electronic Braking System (EBS) and Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), and complemented by the Scania Retarder to ensure the safety of all during the delivery of flammable liquid (FL) cargo. In the event of an emergency, the steering airbag provides added safety to the driver. Further, the speed limiter on the NTG will also ensure compliance with the speed limit and provide added safety to other road users. The designated driver of the truck along with the 3 back-ups are highly trained with ADR certification that is in sync with safety features offered by the Scania NTG.Scania ADR NTG P910_Jospun Jaya Sdn Bhd

The chassis of the truck fulfils the ADR requirements for vehicle type FL, with the included speed limiter, heat cover over the exhaust system, controls on the instrument panel, tail lamp protection and insulated ADR  electrical system. There is also an electric on and off button for the battery master switch on the instrument panel and on the chassis with built-in safety that prevents the button from being pressed by mistake. Two steps are required to activate this function to disconnect the electric current to the whole vehicle, except the alarm system.

The truck is also an improved design from the previous generation which makes the NTG more driver-friendly. It features comfortable and adjustable seating that is closer to the door, an ergonomic dashboard with easy-to-use controls as well as a larger windscreen for improved visibility from every angle. All these make it easier for the driver to operate in a comfortable and safe environment.Scania P410_ADR_Jospun Jaya

Additionally, the advanced powertrain works with the aerodynamic design to improve fuel efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions. Combined, this can give up to 3% improvement in fuel economy. Moreover, the pre-set Economy Mode with the Opticruise is a default, to help with fuel saving.

This ADR specification NTG purchased by Jospun Jaya via Scania Hire Purchase comes with a Repair & Maintenance (R&M) Contract; Scania Fleet Management System (FMS) Control 10; 24/7 Scania Assistance.

The Scania Contracted and Financial Services assures Jospun Jaya a comprehensive logistical solution for complete peace-of-mind. With a fixed and predictable monthly cost, operational profitability can be realised immediately. The Fleet Management System Control 10 also helps Jospun Jaya with efficiency by providing information and insights regarding vehicle and driver performance. From core necessities like real time positioning of the truck, vehicle performance, environmental reports, service planning and defect reporting all the way to driver evaluation, this information helps a business to quickly identify potential vehicle usage improvements.

The truck purchase includes a vehicle introduction training given by a Scania certified trainer upon delivery to make sure the dedicated drivers are familiar with the controls so that there is maximum uptime from the very start of its operation.

Getting this latest contract to transport dangerous materials required a truck that will ensure our operations are safe resulting in the safe delivery of the load for our customer. Though our dedicated drivers are mandatorily trained by our customer, we are glad that Scania is also giving specialised familiarisation training in getting the best out of the ADR NTG for our drivers,” stressed Madang Jok, Director of Jospun Jaya.

Jospun Jaya was established in Miri in 1991 by Jok Ding and daughter Roselyn Jok. Roselyn is currently the Managing Director. The company’s core business is the transportation of fuel-based products such as diesel, and operates from its Miri headquarters, as well as its branches in Bintulu and Sibu.

“Being the first to invest in a Scania ADR NTG in Sarawak spells a leadership move. Our Scania ADR trucks are presently being widely used in Malaysia and Jospun Jaya’s Scania ADR truck will now set the safety standard requirements for the transportation of hazardous goods in Sarawak. We believe, this boost Jospun Jaya’s journey in achieving long-term success in their business,” commented Heba El Tarifi, Managing Director, Scania Southeast Asia.
