Hino Motors Sales (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (HMSM) recently celebrated an important milestone of delivering its 100,000th unit of Hino truck. The 100,000th truck sold by HMSM went to existing customer, Ikhasas Resources Sdn Bhd, which bought the HINO 500 Series FM2PN1D 6×4 medium-heavy duty truck. Ikhasas has been a Hino fleet customer since 2008.
This achievement means a lot to Hino and proves that its products are trusted by Malaysian customers. “Since our establishment in Malaysia in 1977, HMSM has grown and reached the accumulated sales of 100,000 units. We are motivated to know that we have stood as part of the logistics and distribution industry in Malaysia to delivering the goods with our passion, ‘Transporting Every Happiness’. Thank you to all our esteemed customers for the continuous support and trust with the HINO brand,” said Atsushi Uchiyama, Managing Director of HMSM.
As there are now about 100,000 units of HINO vehicles plying the roads in Malaysia, the company is serious and focused on maintaining the trust and confidence from its Malaysian customers to the brand. Through its Total Support initiatives, HMSM seeks to provide customers the convenience of its aftersales support at all its Sales, Services and Spare Parts centres.
Total Support is Hino’s unique initiative and together with the company’s QDR: Quality, Durability and Reliability philosophy for its products, aims to meet its customers’ business requirements and contribute to their success. HMSM also keeps ‘Maximise Vehicle Uptime and Minimise Vehicle Lifetime Cost’ as its fundamental value to ensure a good ownership experience for its customers. Uchiyama-san added that the company will continue to build a business relationship to become its customers’ true partner.
To celebrate this milestone for HMSM, Uchiyama-san presented an appreciation reward to Dato’ Roslan Zainal, Director of Ikhasas Resources, with a complimentary trip to Japan and an opportunity to visit Hino Motors Limited.
Besides this, HMSM revealed that according to the 2019 data released by the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA), HINO has a total market share of 38.1% in the Overall Truck and Bus category, putting it in the No. 1 spot by virtue of the 5,520 vehicles sold in Malaysia. HINO also ranks No. 1 in the Overall Truck category with a 37% market share, with leading positions in the light-duty commercial vehicles (four-wheeler) and medium-heavy duty commercial vehicles segments. While in the bus category, HINO has a significant 61.9% market share.
HMSM managed to increase its market share by 2.6% year-on-year, despite a slight decrease in total industry volume (TIV) for commercial vehicles. HMSM stated that this would not be accomplished without its dealers’ dedication and strong engagement with customers.
