Bintulu, Sarawak has a new Honda 3S Centre as the Japanese carmaker seeks to further expand its presence in the central region of Sarawak, and strengthen its dealership network. Operated by Kemena Auto Sdn Bhd, this Honda 3S is located at Lot 14728, Taman Terus, Jalan Tun Hussein Onn, 97000 Bintulu.
Sited on 43,560 sq ft of land, the 3S facility cost Kemena Auto RM11 million to set up and Honda customers in Bintulu can now enjoy the convenience of its facilities such as comfortable lounges, complimentary WiFi, a kid’s corner, free flow of food and beverages and a surau. Customers can also enjoy the road tax and insurance renewal services here, along with a car wash service.
“East Malaysia is a region with growing potential and great opportunity, which has made it an important market for Honda Malaysia. The East Malaysia expansion started four years ago and currently we have 13 dealerships in East Malaysia with seven of them located in Sarawak. As the only dealership in Bintulu, we strongly believe that Kemena Auto will provide outstanding sales and after-sales services to our customers in this area,” said Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Toichi Ishiyama.
The Kemena Auto Honda 3S Centre has 10 bays, comprising 6 Service Bays, 3 General Repair Bays and 1 Tyre Service Bay that can accommodate up to 40 cars per day.
“On Honda Malaysia’s sales performance, there were more than 38,800 units registered as of May 2019. With this encouraging overall sales performance, I am pleased to note that Honda Malaysia has maintained its position as the No.1 brand in Non-National segment and No.2 in overall TIV as of May 2019. From the overall vehicle registrations recorded, the City contributed the highest at 33%, followed by the HR-V at 21% and the CR-V at 14%,” added Mr. Ishiyama.
For the same month, East Malaysia contributed about 2,300 vehicles or about 6% of total registrations; 1,300 units (60%) was from Sarawak. Honda Malaysia attributes this sales growth in East Malaysia to the new models launched, like the facelifted HR-V which sold more than 680 units in this region.
Similarly, the service intakes have risen in tandem with the growth in sales. The total service intakes by Honda Malaysia outlets for the first five months this year numbered more than 567,200 units, a 12% increase from the service intakes in the same period last year. At the same time, East Malaysia region recorded over 33,800 service intakes, or 6% of the total service intakes.
For 2019, Honda Malaysia is focusing on improving customer service standards. By working closely with its dealer partners, Honda Malaysia is confident that all Honda customers will be able to experience high quality service in its dealerships, and that will further elevate customer satisfaction.
