Toyota power window switch recall – 66,830 vehicles in Malaysia affected

Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) announced a global recall on 21 October 2015 to correct an issue on the power window master switches of certain models.

Today, UMW Toyota Motor has issued a statement announcing that it has received confirmation from TMC that there are 66,830 units of the Vios, Corolla Altis, Camry, Yaris, and RAV4 manufactured from September 2005 to December 2010, are involved in this recall.

Toyota is currently in the midst of preparing the necessary replacement parts and all affected customers will be contacted to enable the necessary corrective measures to be carried out. On vehicles fitted with the affected power window master switch, the component will be applied with specialized grease. If the switch is demonstrating signs of malfunction, the entire switch board will be replaced at no charge to the owner.
