In conjunction with Perodua’s 20th anniversary this year, the company has launched a line-up of ‘S-Series’ special edition variants for each of its three models, namely the Viva S, Myvi 1.3 SE, and Alza S. The models were unveiled earlier this week during the stone-laying ceremony of Perodua’s new RM790 million plant that was announced in December 2012.

First up, the automatic-only Viva S 1.0 is priced at RM34,774.30 with insurance and solid paint. Perodua proudly labels it as the most affordable brand new automatic vehicle in the market, and its equipment list now features power steering, seat height adjuster, seat under tray, seat back pocket, vanity mirror and MP3/WMA audio player.

Meanwhile, the Myvi 1.3 SE offers the external aesthetic enhancements of the SE bodykit that was previously exclusive to the 1.5 together with the equipment and price levels of the previous 1.3 Premium models. With solid paint and insurance, the Myvi 1.3 SE can be yours for RM44,924.30 with manual transmission and RM47,924.30 in auto guise.

At RM53,517.00 and RM56,517.00 manual and automatic respectively, the Alza S adds a marginal premium to the basic Alza SR model and comes with a less barebones appearance, being finished with rear spoilers, fog lamps and silver paint interior finish as well as chrome inner door handles.

All of the S-Series variants are available with the existing colour palettes of the respective models, or they can be specified with the signature ‘Ozzy Orange’ colour dedicated to these models.

Perhaps the most pleasing news for potential Perodua buyers would be the announcement that all its vehicles registered from 15 March onwards will enjoy a 3-year free service at any of its service outlets throughout the country. According to Perodua Managing Director, Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh the free service package, which covers labour and parts, give customers a value average of RM4,500 per unit.
