Change in Volkswagen Group Malaysia’s Top Management Team
KUALA LUMPUR, 1 March 2012 – Volkswagen Group Malaysia, a subsidiary of Volkswagen AG, has announced a change in the top management of the company, with effect today.
This is following the completion of a Volkswagen International Management Program that saw the participation of senior executives within the company from around the world.
Mr Daniel Tan, Region Management Director, has successfully undergone this program and has been selected to join an international project team by Volkswagen.
“I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Mr Daniel Tan on this career development. We are sad to let him go but I believe this is a good opportunity for him to move ahead,” said Volkswagen Group Malaysia Managing Director Mr Ricky Tay.
“He has done a good job in contributing to the development of the brand and company in Malaysia and it is time for him to move on to another role within Volkswagen,” he added.
Mr Leonard Wong, the Network Development Director, will assume the post of Region Management Director.
The current portfolio of Network Development Director will be assumed temporarily by Mr Ricky Tay before a suitable candidate is identified.
Mr Leonard Wong comes with more than 25 years of experience in the automotive business in Asia.
Prior to Malaysia, he was the Director of Retail Management with Volkswagen (China) Import Co Ltd.
Mr Leonard Wong has extensive experience in automotive retail set up, previously heading the sales operations of a dealership that sells over 20,000 units per annum.
Mr Ricky Tay added, “Mr Leonard Wong’s contribution in the Network Development of dealers under the Volkswagen brand is highly valued and I am confident he will repeat his exemplary performance at his new Region Management portfolio.”
