ETCM launches Nissan Latio facelift

by -

Having just introduced the facelifted Grand Livina and all-new Livina X-Gear, Nissan’s renewed assault on the B-segment continues with an updated version of the Nissan Latio, launched today by Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd (ETCM).

As before, ETCM will continue to offer the Latio in 4-door sedan and 5-door hatchback bodystyles, but the permutation of models has been significantly reduced. Customers now only have two variants to choose from – the sedan powered by the 1.6-litre HR16DE engine, or the hatch powered by the 1.8-litre MR18DE engine. Both engines are now offered with a 4-speed auto as standard. Manual transmission, which was previously available with the 1.6, is no longer offered.

Outputs are unchanged from the pre-facelift, with the 1.6 being rated to produce 107hp @ 6,000rpm and able to twist out a strong 153Nm @ 4,400rpm. Meanwhile, the all-aluminium 1.8-litre MR18DE has 125hp at its disposal at 5,200rpm, and 174Nm @ 4,800rpm. Nissan claims fuel consumption figures of 7.1 and 7.8 l/100km for the 1.6 sedan and 1.8 hatch respectively.

The new Latio can be distinguished from the old by its redesigned front grille and bumper. Further touches can be seen on the hatch in the form of a new rear bumper, new head lamps, and new tail lamps. Inside, the hatchback gets a new audio head-unit complete with Aux input and hooked up to steering-mounted controls (finally!!). Also exclusive to the hatchback is a trip computer with fuel consumption readings and automatic climate control.

On-the-road prices (inclusive of insurance, road tax, registration fee and ownership claim fee) valid for Peninsular Malaysia will be as follows:
– Sedan 1.6 AT – RM89,800.00
– Hatchback 1.8 AT – RM99,800.00

The new Latio comes with a 3-year or 100,000 km warranty (whichever comes first). On top of that, Latio buyers will also receive free Solar Gard Armorcoat tinting package worth RM1,400.00.
