Honda introduces Civic 1.8S-L
Honda Malaysia today introduced a new variant of the 8th generation Civic, offering the 1.8-litre model with a host of goodies plucked from the 2.0-litre. Dubbed the 1.8S-L, the new variant is projected to make up for some 30% of a targeted monthly sales figure 750 units for the Civic.
Priced at RM119,980 on-the-road without insurance, the 1.8S-L is a mere RM5,000 over the Civic 1.8S, but a full RM11k down from the 2.0S. We have already seen Honda perform such a model shake up last year with the hugely popular Accord 2.0 VTi-L.
Features added to the 1.8S-L include cruise control, steering-mounted audio controls, wing mirror integrated blinkers, chrome door handles, metallic dash finish, and leather trim. Following a similar argument as the aforementioned Accord 2.0 VTi-L, these additions immediately make the 1.8S-L the pick of the Civic range.

Since its debut in 2006, Honda has shifted over 37,000 units of the 8th-gen Civic into Malaysian homes, and for 2010, expectations are that the Civic will make up for 20% of Honda’s sales pie chart.
Available for viewing at Honda showrooms nationwide, the Civic 1.8S-L is offered in the same colours as the existing Civic, namely Taffeta White, Crystal Black Pearl, Alabaster Silver Metallic, Sparkle Gray Pearl and Urban Titanium.
