Let's wait and see how the pricing eventually becomes. My guess is that it is most likely to be between MYR110k to MYR130k range. Should be very ok for a continental all rounder other than Land Rover smile_blackeye.gif

I believe it is realistically likely as this category of vehicle is currently exempted from import duty just like the hybrids are subjected to. Therefore, for now, Malaysian pick up truck buyers are buying their trucks at a price almost similar if not cheaper than most other countries in the world. Let's hope it stays that way.

Having said that, the only possible reason the Amarok is most likely going to cost more than its Japanese contemporaries is due to EUR currency factor.

Nevertheless, we'll have to wait and see what eventually transpires from our motoring who's who smile_blackeye.gif

This is my No 1 ! Tested & Driven

Thanks to roocarol and other sutoworld commenters in here, I tried the Navara, Ford Ranger, Triton, Colorado, Mazda bt50 and Toyota Hilux.
My priorities are must have good cornering, quietness, not bumpy and spacious cabin.

Note: The Hilux vnt model have the smoothest autogear box of all.

This is my No 2 ! tested & Driven

Got to try them then! I nearly felt sick when sitting in the back seats of a Hilux. So bumpy.
Any idea when Amarok Vw will reach our shores? My only worry is Vw don't like to take their own cars as trade in unless you are prepared to sell them at a ripoff price! Replacement parts I hear from Singapore is too expensive!

Which version of the BT-50 did you test drive?

The only catch with the BT-50 and the Ranger is the sky high servicing costs. Around RM1,000 per 10,000km service ohmy.gif

Thanks, it's not going so well though. I'd hoped to have it all wrapped up by the end of last month and I still can't pick a winner.
