Thanks, it's not going so well though. I'd hoped to have it all wrapped up by the end of last month and I still can't pick a winner.

Hope so but the service bill will not be cheap for all these new trucks and next come the maintenance - dont be caught off guard and a big surprised later and doing some more checking! if you want to be more comfortable with the bills if it is your priority and concerns!

I had a good laugh with your comment on buying a VW. I guess I'll never own a VW in Malaysia. Still, I need a second car for January so I can't take a year to decide like I did the last time.

Which version of the BT-50 did you test drive?

The only catch with the BT-50 and the Ranger is the sky high servicing costs. Around RM1,000 per 10,000km service ohmy.gif

I was over in Hatyai when I tested Mazda bt50 double cab pro. 2.2Litre, auto and abs and ebd. I tested Ford Ranger with same option at PJ off Federal Highway. I felt Mazda was more quiet. I noticed auto shift (Ranger and bt50) not so smooth like new vnt hilux. I am prepared to pay some extra for servicing for cars which are better for enjoyment. For accessories, I will be going again to Hatyai smile_thumbup.gif

I was hoping to test drive that version here but they only have the 2.2 manual.

Are the accessories in Hatyai much cheaper or is there better choice? Are you going to get the Mexican wrestling mask bull bars?

Good laugh at what? Pricing too high or too long waiting time? just because they tested the car and got poison and just buy it cos thay like it - that's what we were caught and poisoned this way too as well as all other vw owners. There are many better cars to buy I think too, but for fun try try - then kena, Never test 1 if dont want it. waiting time is still long for a particular model from 6 mths to a year!!! and they dare not even have the car in the showroom, and also in the recent motor show at Matrade, they dare not dispaly it too, they say no stock and stop taking orders, carzy?

I hope you didn't take offense. I just thought it was funny. The quote was something like; if you think too much, you definitely won't buy it.

I'm much more head over heart when it comes to cars although I'm struggling now with the head (Mazda BT-50) or the heart (Ford Ranger).

Get the Ranger.
Resale value of Mazda will make Ford looks like God.

Why do you say that?

I'd assumed that the Mazda would have higher resale value because it's a Japanese brand and Ford is an American brand.
