anyhow it still very bad service, this already a known issue, shouldn't be VW get ready the part for the replacement ? not sure is it VW here so poor got no money to stock up the spare parts ? change a windscreen wait three weeks, change a clutch pack also got to wait for three weeks. every time they need three days to get the work done. I think we bought a car to serve us and not we serve the car.

Also VW famous with bad customer service as the link below showing an unhappy customer smashed his Lamborghini. he did complaint to the VW Asia pacific but i don't think he got the attention from VW.

Relax bro, my previous honda also need to wait for parts too. First year of ownership, wiper motor "kaput" while driving in the rain...very dangerous experience, anyway...took honda SC a week to get the parts for replacement, and have to leave the car the whole day. (luckily FOC, under warranty albeit just 3 years)....

few weeks after delivery, have to send back for re-mounting back the windscreen, got whistling sound at speed above 100km (not properly done by the factory!!)...

after 2.5 years, have to change steering rack (luckily w/in warranty period)...blah3x...thts the problem of car ownership

my colleque city issues wt his CVT further...no need to tell, well known issue

Leave a car whole day, at least still get your car back in a day. VW just a standard service only also least half aday to one whole day and if need to replace something they will tell you to leave your car there for three days. This proven that how incompetence of VW. Also this issue already in the market for so long, they still dare to ignore and telling nonsense to ppl due to hot climate (Don't BS here, i think the summer in Australia is must hotter than here) or no error found in the computer checking, unable to replace the part. what sort of crap support given by a so called 'German' company.

For Toyota, if the SC here BS you, told you this can not be done and that can not be done. You write an email to Toyota Japan, they will reply to you nicely and give you all the solutions how to fix it in step by step. then you can bring it back to the SC to get them to work on it. VW complaint to their HQ, just a statement, we not going to look into the case, i will get your in country representative to work on it and no more follow up on that.

Bro Sctin,
out of curiosity...i am assuming u drive a Golf TSI and if it was priced at 115K close to the rest of them ...would you get this mad for poor reliability & services...? Just seeing if there is a correlation between price paid and expectation...

Frankly, from my experience of owning conti cars for the past 30 yrs, I dont rely on it 100% (just 1 car and only car for the "leg") - usually MUST and have at least 1 spare cars to use. if only 1 car then conti is sure to give you broken legs!!!!

Agree with Bro BR1, I'm surprised as well. I did my software upgrading and change clutch pack within 1.5 days. Got no problem setting the appointment with the OKR SC. Drop my car there, took the taxi to KL Sentral and went outstation for a day. Came back next evening collect the car and enjoying the ride.

I guess bad luck happens.

Oppss....Actually what i meant was leave the car the whole day and got it back only the next day. shud have mentioned "overnite" but more or less same ler, need to wait a week for the parts to arrive at the SC....

Anyway, nowadays cars are not too reliable, hence the advantages of longer warranty (Hyundais/kias/pug..long 5 yrs) maybe due too much electronic/computerised...

hahahaha, no wonder Toyota sticks to "dino" stuffs...yeap, they're bullet proof reliable those NA engine & 4 Speedo torque conv box .. smile_thumbup.gif

Thanks for your info. I got you, which mean conti car just problematic and normally short of spare parts. It is suitable to be used as second car.

maybe owners over pampered the car and too fussy and just do when there is a slightest repairs required, as for spares depend on makes and items. no so now compared to previously, since now with more cars in the market.

Yep. You can have a conti but you must also have a good ol' jap workhorse as back up. Anything happen to my conti, I can always hop on my kapchai.
