Not in mine, no issues so far... touch wood
Those who are afraid can get the new Camry, 4-speed auto GB, sure no issue.

This issue is reported only in China? Perhaps due to their fuel quality?
How about other countries?
Despite this, I will still buy in confidence as long as VW live up to their promise.

Actually the issue has been reported in many countries, however, Chinese authorities have been pushing VW for a solution due to lots of complaints from VW owners, Volkswagen's quick fix to appease the authorities in China is to offer an extended warranty on the DSG. The question is, will they use the same tactic in Malaysia for example?
To be honest with you, I too have confidence in VW in sorting out the issue, but you can already see how important China is to them as a market compared to Malaysia....

hope there is a fix soon. My China friend is going to get his Passat 1.8 TSI at ~RMB240000.
Hope VW seriously take the issue to gain back customer's confidence. Otherwise it will scare away many potential customers, make topic by 4-speed Camry owner laugh
