I test drove the new Bravo and i did not feel the turbo lag, so I was
wondering if the turbo unit in the Bravo is like the compressor unit in the
Merc, unlike the turbo in the Fiat Coupe.

I found out yesterday that the 30 units of Fiat Bravo are held up at the
Port Klang yard coz the import duty has not been paid...the excuse given by
the sale person is that the import duty has not been determined yet by the
customs which sounds fishy to me.How can they put a price tag when they
don't know the custom duty??

Does Torino have no $ to pay the customs so the cars are held back??!!

I doubt Torino is the cause. The G is trying to impose the highest tax
possible to make this 1.4 Liter baby out of most people's reach. 1.4 car
more than 100K lol only in Malaysia.

After kicking a fuss, the Bravo was supposed to be delivered today but
still no roadtax. Now the delivery is rescheduled to next week.

Received the delivery of car on Thursday.Much of my opinion is similar to
this review:

http://paultan.org/a...ort-test-drive/

Found the sound dampening in this Bravo has been much improved. The
suspension system despite on 18 inches is awesome. The electric steering is
a slight disappointment though.

So far no complaints except like Paul Tan said some panel fixation could
have been improved. The Blue & Me system is great but found my mobile phone
SMS reading is not compatible.

Manage to get the Bravo sill protectors from UK and fixed it-looks great.
Still looking for some more accessory. The antenna is too long-a smaller
one would be nice.

Was at Goodwork Auto on Friday to get the doors oiled as they felt kinda
sticky. First service definitely at Goodwork!

Was also at Consistent Distinction to find out about tyre price...what a
shock Pirelli`s 225/40/R18 are around $1K++. Anyone know of cheaper
alternatives?

Anyone else got a Bravo to share experience?

Cheers!

Hi Bro,
Congrats on your new ride and I'm sure you are a happy man nowadays.

I had test driven the Bravo recently and I was absolutely delighted. It
was a great looker inside out. The pull from standstill was fantastic and
the ride was very pleasing indeed. Fallen in love at first sight.

I have a few questions regarding the Bravo and hope you can provide some
clarification, if you dont mind:

1. What's your warranty period in the contract? I was told by the SA it's
2-years unlimited km. But I saw a 3-year warranty on Torino's web site.
2. It's probably obvious but why first service at Goodwork? Will it void
your warranty with Torino?
3. I'm driving a Suzuki Swift now and plan to upgrade in a few months
time. Love the Bravo but also keep hearing noises on FIAT reliability, or
the lack of it to be exact, steep total cost of ownership (maintenance
and depreciation), and dodgy after sales service by Torino. What's your
view on this? Do you have data for comparison? How do you mitigate?

I hope to make an informed decision before committing myself for at least
7 years on the Bravo. It's also managing my own expectation. Look forward
to your sharing soon. Cheers and Happy 2008!

congrats man, hv tested the car my self, really fall in love with it. only thing I don't like is not enough money and the leg room for rear passanger is really almost none.

I think all fiat dealers are crappy, don't believe me check the fiat singapore forum and how much they "love" their service centre, well they have options for authorise centres not like us here stuck with one.

Hi there,

Q:1. What's your warranty period in the contract? I was told by the SA it's
2-years unlimited km. But I saw a 3-year warranty on Torino's web site.
A: I was told the same thing but when I got my warranty certificate it's
written 2 years/50K km.Need to clarify with sales person.

Q:2. It's probably obvious but why first service at Goodwork? Will it void
your warranty with Torino?
A:To be frank with you, i don't give a damn about Torino's warranty.(there
are already so many horror stories, and I don't want to be another
statistic) Anyway, when I mentioned about first service, I mean to drain
all the lubricants at 1K and re-new. As adviced by S'pore Bravo kakis, it's
better to change the lubricants at 5K-7K so I probably be doing that.
Torino just want you to bring in the car at the schedule service stated in
the book.

A: If you thinking about depreciation, then the Fiat brand is not for you.
Fiat cars do depreciate and usually more than the Japanese ones. Being a
new car with lack of parts at the present moment, you may have to be
careful with the new car. Normal lubricant change is not that expensive.
Parts change may be costly due to the above. I have been driving a Fiat
before and I find it to be reliable if its taken good care.

I hope the above gives some perspective in Fiat ownership. Browse other
Fiat forums for more info.
Cheers.
