After the new NAP (under AFTA in-force) is announced and things are favourable, Ford will definitely bring in the new S-Max. Might even bring in complete specs & fuel saving diesel powered Fiesta sedan, Focus & Mondeo as long as they come in CBU from Thailand. Hope Euro3 diesel is introduced as well and that'll allow those FC savings diesel powered cars be brought in and they'll pose serious threat to Japs cars. A diesel powered turbocharged 2.0L Focus could achieve better FC than Vios 1.5L with VVT-i while performance is on par with 2.0L petrol engines.
S-Max will do well with its nice looks. If got diesel variant even better, can save lots of fuel but compatible only with Euro3 onwards..
Hi balee,
Mondeo is priced at too high due to CBU from Belgium. They'll need to establish assembly plant in Thailand or Malaysia before they should even start selling it. Those who wanted Mondeo will be drawn to Mazda 6 2.5L instead with full specs and costs lower. Bad strategy.
Yes...pls..pls..pls.. bring the S-MAX 2.0 TDCI (sure they can, they brought in the Focus TDCI for our euro 2M diesel)....I need a big MPV with 320-340nm of torque to pull the weights & 7 ppls but with a frugal honda city/Toyota vios/Perodua Viva like fuel consumption ....only a modern diesel can do this, huge torque but low FC...or better, just bring the Ford Galaxy 2.0 TDCI, thats bigger

Ford galaxy here? maybe on 2012.haha but that would be really great if they bring it here next year. The problem is they increase the price too much, even with the ford parts which is really irritating. If you want a huge torque but low FC you should check Hyundai accent.

Saw the S-MAX few months ago in Singapore. It didn't look fantastic. Exterior design is just OK, interior is normal. Serious consideration should go to Citroen C4 Grand Picasso and Peugeot 5008.

the s-max can really run! handling is pretty decent... it is afterall an mpv. but the ecoboost 2.0 turbo is fast. my relative has one and i had the pleasure of experiencing if over the last few days. also heard that the s-max will be making an inroad in a couple of months time and to be priced in the the 170k to 190k region.

Not Hyundai Accent bro.....Huge torque & low FC 7 seaters if its a hyundai will be the Santa Fe diesel 2.2 liter engined.... its a 7 seater with 440nm of torque and 14.9km/liter fuel consumption.

Our sources in SDAC tell us that the S-Max will roll out together with the Mondeo EcoBoost.
