What was the outcome of investigation by FA? If anything, hope it is
warranty work.

Very strange indeed, twilight zone perhaps?

The car was not ready yesterday, told that it should be ready by noon
today. Told that they were still working on the central electrical module
thingy.
It is under warranty but still the hassle of bringing the car to FA and
leave it there for a couple of days, not exactly my idea of trouble free
motoring. Fortunately that I have a car to use during this period of
time, so will actually pick the car up tomorrow morning if it is ready by
today.
But if this happens during a holiday trip around Malaysia? Do we have to
sacrifice trouble free motoring for the sake of conti-motoring
experience? Have I been right in choosing the S40 and not the Camry or
Accord? All this thought crossed my mind endless time this couple of days.
Sigh........

2nd car is a Peugeot and has been owning it last 6 years. Can you
imagine, minor thing like a sun visor, I need to order from eBay UK to
replace the faulty one! There are no shops carrying such part in
Malaysia or Singapore. However the handling atribute of the car is
something unmatched by other makes.
In my opinion, Volvo Malaysia needs to improve on customer retention and
gaining share from competitors. The way how service & part are priced
make them difficult to compete with established luxury brands, not to
mention reliability factor.
Anyway, hope to hear good news on your car tomorrow!

that the problem was caused by a short circuit in the central electrical
module. The unit has been replaced and it is ok now, so I was told. It
was under warranty but if it were not, would have cost 4-5k to replace.
In the meantime, the alignment work which I requested was done FOC,
presumably to compensate me for my trouble kua?
It was a manufacturing defect and was not due to car wash or anything.
I did run over a rat on Saturday night, wonder if it has got anything to
do with that incident. Could it be the spirit of the rat at work here?

Cheers.
