Hi to all...
Jimny eh???....Hmmmm...I really like this car. Easy to maintain and very
fun to drive... I still remembered I was offered RM 18.5K for a pristine
and privately owned year 95 Jimny at the end of dec 03, but I refused to
buy it that time because I have not got enough money and foolishly
thinking the price would be lower by the coming year 04.
Guess what. Last week, I saw two Suzuki Jimnys at a second hand car
dealer in Temerloh, Pahang. I was told by the dealer The Jimny SJ413 is
now very high on demand and the second hand value has become higher. The
Jimnys there were retailed at RM25K for a year 96 privately owned model
(Sold) and RM24.5K for a company used 97 model.
If only I have bought the car earlier... :(

One unit is for sale in Sri Serdang light industrial area. Purple color
of 1991 (iinm) unit. I think is SJ413. A friend call it Flower Horn due
to sculpted-like (hunchback) roof. Fully modified with 35" Simex
Centipede Extreme Trekker (looks very new). But the asking price... 28k.
Depending on modification list, it could be a fair price. I dunno really.
Anyone interested, plese check urself.

Hi, Ade Lee,
Go to seat chop shop. I found pair of MR2 leather/pseudo suede seats with
lumbar support for cheap. The cloth versions are going like RM250 - RM300
a pair. Look for RX7, Skyline, sportscar seats as these have bucket-like
shape. So quite affordable, just need competant mechanic to graft some
brackets on.

Current market prices are from around 154 to 25k for you age range. The
15k being something requiring a little work to it.

Wow, its been WAYYYY to long since I last came here. Sorry for not showing
up, but let me just share my experience with this car....
Again, I love the Jimny, its absolutely wonderful to zip around town, not
to mention parking in the tightest areas ever. Went down to Port Dickson
and parking there is horrible. Managed to find a nice little spot in the
car park there isn't accesible to normal sedans, but the JImny does it
again by driving over the parking divider and into the spot. =)
Well, here's what I've done to my Jimny over the years!
1) Upgraded the sound system by installing 4" in the front and 3 ways in
the back with casings. Bought a cheapo Head Unit with VCD capability (no
screen though, car still to easy to break in!)
2) Car alarm system with remote locking (new sylinders in the front two
doors but couldn't add a cylinder in the back, no space. Anyone finds out
how, let me know!)
3) New tires front.
4) New absorbers and leaf springs (a regretful activity cos now the whole
car squeeks!)
So far, I'm facing a leaking engine (gasket old liao, which requires a
overhaul) and again, the suspension squeeks. Looks like I have to change
the suspension bushings... errrghhhh!!!
The clutch plate is also nearly gone, as going uphill is getting harder and
harder. WIll probably stuff the whole car into the mechanic for a full
repair. Yeah, I know the guy in Tg Malim who upgraded his Land ROver, and I
see his car going about everyday. =) Very interesting guy.
Oh, just in case you guys are interested to do stuff on your Jimny, let me
know. And by the way, I'm not selling my car.... too classic and sentimental.

despite of the high market price for Jimny,i got SJ410 for RM6500 with
faulty double gear and recently the cylinder head gave up on me..still in
workshop and the mechanic told me 2 days ago,the head already in his
workshop...so maybe my jeep would get out in couple of days..
Ade_lee,
how much u got for ur leaf spring,..mine already concaving upwards...i
think the abs still good coz there's no leak..
job done for the last couple of month since i got the jeep:
1- brake pump changed for both of my rear wheels..
2- repair the wipers..only one on the driver side working be4...
3- rewiring several electrical components ie signal lamp, spot light etc..
4- battery replacement with a 2nd hand NS60 for RM45
my battery kongs out due to low amprere output from the alternator..the
multimeter says it's only 10A output..i'm still searching for the
alternator..the 'new' battery should give me some time..
the body still good coz the previous owner take a great care of the
looks..he just don't really mind inside the engine bay..
