help ! my wira idle rpm drops when on aircond ...

My mechanic told me that my wira is facing the same problem (the vacuum
not functioning when aircon runing.) and asked me to consult a car
electrician for help.
Mine is 1996 wira 1.8EXI auto (Fuel injection), rpm = 1000 when idling;
850 when aircon kicks in.
so should I send my car to the electrician or the service centre to tune
the ECU? or to tune the FICU(wher?)?
I have sent my car to a electrician, he said there shouldn't be any
problem, according to him if the vacuum not functioning the engine will
vibrate violently. I also learned from this forum that someone has tuned
the ECU already but the problem still persist! so anyone can help???

.. purged, dried, compressor oil replaced.. and system reloaded? Maybe
worth your while.. and is recomended anyhow as a regular once a year
preventative maintenance routine anyhow.. if you go that far better get the
operation of your High/Low pressure switch checked as well.

system reloaded? And finally what is that High/Low pressure switch? Are
these related to the aircon system?
Will appreciate if you can further depict........
By the way for you guys information, I disconected the battery +ve for
about several minutes to reset the ecu to default setting, I felt the
power increased apparently and can fell the auto gear shifted more
actively. But the rpm still fell when aircon kicks in......

after I wrote that then next time I got into my car and turned the ignition
on.. my radiator fans started going at high speed.. well thats one of the
things the High low pressure switch controls in most cars.. and one of the
indications it could be shot, basically when in high pressure operation the
compressor kicks down and activates the fans to try to cool the aircon
system to reduce the pressure build up,, in any case have the switch
checked. it could be stuck in low pressure operation when in fact it's
high.. or like mine apperantly stuck in high pressure operation even though
When you had your aircon serviced.. what did they do?.. sometimes they just
look at the pressure and top it up.. not many will siphon out the
compressor oil and replace it with the correct amount, or purge and dry the
system. When I said reloaded .. I mean't refilled/repressurized.
Your RPM will always get effected when the aircon comes on.. in most cars
it recovers properly, perhaps this is a problem related to Proton specific
ECU's if not a problem related to the compressor requiring more than
"normal" power (HP) to operate..

Just for your info. I drive a wira 1.3 efi. The other day i went to check
my car tuning. By default the RPM is 800 (proton original setting). When i
turn on the air con, the RPM drop for a short moment and recover back to
800RPM. So even with the air con on, the ECU will adjust the RPM back to
Just what i observed...

reader...analogue we can only guess from our raw eye.

So what do we do?
Go and check tuning? Get the car tuned?
Go check at aircond shop?
I drive a 2000 Wira 1.3 Aeroback. when car idles there's loud noise
coming from engine - air cond side. Off aircond - no sound....I guess
it's a similar prob to the above.

its normal for rpm to drop when air cond is on
