Correct. And I thought the MKII was noisy. LOL.
Installing some insulating material like Dynamat over the wheel well should help reduce the noise.
I was thinking of complaining to the service centre to see if the suspension is defective. Sometimes the suspension of the Focus makes some noise that is akin to loose screws rubbing against each other. Even on flat roads at very low speeds 0-20km/h.
I think the sound from the suspension is inherent in the Focus, but still would bring up the matter and see if they can improve it before I consider whether to do something such as the Dynamat. Have you installed the Dynamat before? In the attempt to improve NVH particularly the road/suspension noises, I will not consider major works such as removing the seat or some parts of the car to get into the undercarriage to install the soundproofing material. Installing insulation material like Dynamat over the wheel arches(without removing anything), that is acceptable to me. :-)
Anyway I will wait until the next 10,000km service to see if they can do anything to reduce the suspension noises before I decide whether to install the Dynamat or not.

Ryder,
I did not install Dynamat in my car but a few of my friends did (on Focus and Lynx) and are quite happy with the result.

Does anybody experience a rattling sound from the steering wheel during cornering at low speeds on bad rough-surfaced roads?

Too bad we will never see a manual stick shift in a NA 2.0 Focus in Malaysia ...

For me, the interior of this new Focus is an improvement over the current model. The dashboard and centre console look much neater with less buttons than the current messy centre console with lots of buttons on the Sony audio system and Sync. The steering wheel also looks nicer and more elegant than the current Focus. The biggest improvement is in the neater and cleaner centre console.
As for the exterior, personally I dont' like the front grille on the Focus (which is similar to the new Fiesta?). I prefer the exterior of the current Focus.

The new tail lights has a lower profile. You can see it in the second photo.
