when will ford launch ecoboost focus in bolehland?
SDAC will be launching the Fiesta EcoBoost soon. It could be an indication that they will also bring in the Focus EcoBoost soon. But they have to do something about the clunky Powershift.
I will be sending in the Focus for service next week. I hope they can do something to reduce the clunkiness of the gearbox.

I asked a Sales Adviser. What he told me make sense.
The Focus is targeted at the mass market here. To be competitive, an ASEAN sourced car would be best. Thailand in this case. For the Focus they have decided on the 2.0L over the EcoBoost 1.6. The Fiesta 1.0L EcoBoost is also build in Thailand therefore it is available here.
The S-max, Kuga and Focus ST would never be a huge seller, therefore can it still be imported CBU Europe.
Since the Focus EcoBoost isn't build in Thailand it will be unavailable here. If imported CBU Europe at an estimated price of 150k I wonder how many people would buy it?

I read that Australia also get their Ford Focus from Thailand. Meaning no Focus EcoBoost for them too.

They must have updated the software of the Powershift during the service. There is only a very slight juddering on take-off after which the gears bite immediately. The car is so nice to drive now. I hope it stays this way.

Breadman, do you have wind sound in your Ford Focus starting from 100km/h? I have wind sound in my vehicle when the speed reaches 100km/h, and the wind sound gets louder at higher speeds.
Do you have any idea how to make the Focus free from wind noise up to 150km/h? Is it due to the rubber lining/seal around the door and the windscreen? The rubber lining still looks pretty good and new.
KL Auto have some products to address wind/vehicle noise, but not too sure if they will work for the Ford Focus.
Any thoughts?

Similarly I have done the software upgrade and the vehicle now drives very smoothly at low speeds which is good during crawling traffic. However, during hard acceleration or the need for speed sessions, the kick is somehow missing as the jerks when the gear is upshifting is now missing. The gear upshifting now feels like a CVT instead of a Powershift. Nevertheless, acceleration is still powerful. It is just that without the jerks the kick is missing.
