The new Lotus Evora 400 that was first seen in the 2015 Geneva Motor Show has been introduced to the Malaysian market by Lotus Cars Malaysia, a subsidiary of Proton Holdings Bhd. “We are glad that the Lotus Evora 400 has entered the Malaysian market as it is the fastest road-going Lotus car that we have ever produced. This car delivers not only a supercar look but definitely a supercar performance as well,” said Dato’ Abdul Harith Abdullah, Chief Executive Officer, Proton Holdings Berhad. The latest and greatest supercar from the Lotus stable is much faster and dynamically more capable than the preceding Lotus Evora. The Evora 400 accelerates to 100km/h in 4.2 seconds and has a maximum speed of 300km/h. More than two-thirds of the Evora 400 is new, including its supercharged and charge-cooled mid-mounted 3.5L V6 engine with output of 400hp and 410Nm of torque. Built on a new aluminium chassis, it also incorporates a new interior while the lightweight composite body has changed significantly both front and rear. With careful and clever design, the new Evora 400 had its kerb weight reduced by 42kg over the previous. This weight reduction coupled with more power means more agility and speed which allowed the car to lap the challenging Lotus test track in Hethel, UK, 7 seconds faster than the previous model. To commemorate its launch in Malaysia, Lotus Cars Malaysia is offering a promotion package for the Evora 400 which includes 3 years’ warranty, 2 years’ free service, a one time experience at the Lotus Driving Academy and automatic membership to the distinguished Lotus Official Club Malaysia (LOCM). The Evora 400 retails from RM597,999 for the base...
