On the tour of the Kulim facility, Mazda explained that these premium colors are a result of its evolutionary Takiminuri painting technology which gives the colors exceptional depth and glow. The 3-layer paint structure (clear, translucent, reflective coats) features a high chroma color pigment in the translucent layer while the reflective coat has light-absorbing flakes and aluminum flakes of uniform size and are horizontally aligned to reflect light.
