New Volkswagen Beetle & Vento Variants Launched
Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has unveiled an array of models – the new Beetle, Vento ALLSTAR and Vento GT, following its low-key introduction on the Polo ALLSTAR.
Managing Director of VPCM, Erik Winter said that the new offerings are targeted to those wanting to stand out from the crowd. “We not only want to make our cars more accessible to Malaysians, but we also want to give them more options with value added benefits, whilst ensuring that the cars they drive are instant head-turners. With the new Beetle, the ALLSTAR series and the Vento GT, our customers now have an even wider array of products from Volkswagen in time for the upcoming Raya festivities.”
The New Beetle
Leading the pack is the latest edition of Volkswagen iconic Beetle. The new Beetle is priced from RM136,888 and is available in Pure White, Tornado Red, Blue Silk, Dark Bronze, Habanero Orange and White Silver.
The new Beetle is offered in 2 variants – Design and Sport, and both variants move with a 1.2-liter turbocharged TSI engine which produces 105 PS and 175 Nm of torque. This is paired to a 7-speed DSG transmission.
Both variants come with Anti-skid Regulator (ASR), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Brake Assist (BA), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill-Start Assist, multi-function leather steering wheel and multi-function on-board computer display (MFD).
The Design variant is equipped with halogen headlamps, manual air-conditioning controls, “Pepita” fabric upholstery and “Composition Colour” 5.8″ touchscreen display with 8 speakers. On the other hand, the Sport variant has bi-Xenon headlamps and LED daytime running lights, 2-zone ‘Climatronic’ climate control, “Vienna” leather trim seats with lumbar support for the front seats, “Composition Media” 6.5″ touchscreen display with 8 speakers and App Connect (MirrorLink, Android Auto & Apple CarPlay connectivity), paddle shifters and cruise control.
Vento ALLSTAR
The Vento ALLSTAR is priced from RM 78,888 and is available in Reflex Silver and Candy White. The Vento ALLSTAR includes RM 7,000 worth of exclusive accessories such as leather seats, aluminum sports pedals, rear spoiler, black door strips and trunk garnish, ‘ALLSTAR’ scuff plates, emblems and carpet mats.
Powering this ALLSTAR is a 1.6-liter MPI engine paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic function, capable of producing 105 PS and maximum torque of 153 Nm. Average fuel consumption is rated at 6.5 liters per 100 km.
Besides the cosmetic enhancements, the Vento ALLSTAR is also equipped with the new MY VWDrive App, which provides added convenience such as driving style and fuel consumption tracking, as well as smart capabilities that keep you safe and in control, and provide a worry-free ownership experience with insights on the car’s condition and performance. Additionally, you will also be able to easily obtain immediate help from Mondial Roadside Assistance in case of an emergency.
The Vento ALLSTAR is fitted with the ‘Climatronic’ climate control, glove compartment cooling, automatic up-down for all 4 windows (with anti-pinch feature), remote opening and closing of windows, leather multi-function steering wheel, ABS with BA, Intelligent Crash Response System (ICRS), speed-sensitive electronic power steering, and 15″ ‘Riverside’ alloy wheels.
Vento GT
The other Vento variant revealed is the rugged Vento GT; also available in Reflex Silver and Candy White. It is priced from RM 89,888 and comes with RM 9,000 worth of exclusive accessories like the “Satin” black roof and exterior mirror wraps, black door strips, leather seats, aluminum sports pedals, GT Aerokit, ‘GT’ scuff plates, emblems and carpet mats.
The Vento GT however, is powered by the award-winning 1.2-liter turbocharged direct injection TSI engine with an output of 105 PS and 175 Nm of torque (highest torque in its class); paired with the 7-speed DSG transmission. Official average fuel consumption is 5.5 liters per 100 km.
The Vento GT has ‘Cable’ fabric upholstery, ‘Climatronic’ climate control, cruise control, automatic up-down for all 4 power windows (with anti-pinch feature), remote opening and closing of windows, leather multi-function steering wheel, ‘RCD 330G’ touchscreen multimedia, ABS with BA, ESC, Hill-Hold Control, Intelligent Crash Response System (ICRS), speed-sensitive electronic power steering, and 16″ ‘Syenit’ alloy wheels.

The prices for the Vento variants above include the ‘Duit Raya’ of RM 11,000 offered by VPCM as part of the Hari Raya sales promotion. The other Hari Raya promotions are: Polo (‘Duit Raya’ of RM 7,000); Jetta (RM 10,000); Golf (RM 21,000); Tiguan (RM 5,000) and Passat (RM 15,000). As part of the promotion, the Vento and the Passat now also include RM 500 petrol voucher & 5 years’ FREE maintenance.
All Volkswagen models come with 5 years’ manufacturer’s warranty, 5 years’ roadside assistance and 15,000 km service intervals.
